What is the issue you’re having?
While driving in the city I get freezes that last anywhere from a second to several seconds.

What are you trying to do?
Driving quickly in the city. Sometimes participating in car chases.

What have you tried already to fix the issue?

  • Completely uninstalled and reinstalled FiveM.
  • Ran a Verify on the GTA V game files.
  • Tried various levels of graphics detail settings, texture budgets, etc.
  • Closed as many other software apps as I can while the game is running.
  • Tried using V-Sync
  • Tried switching to DirectX 10 and 10.1

What did you do to get this issue? Has been this way since the beginning.

What server did you get this issue on? Be specific and name some, ‘all of them’ by itself isn’t useful!
It happens on all of them that I play on. I’ve played on many. I am currently playing on Sandbox RP.

I am very interested in getting this issue resolved. I don’t believe that I should have to be running the game on low quality settings with the PC specs I have - I think it’s something else. People running the game on lowers PC specs than I have are having better success so it shouldn’t be a performance issue.

Yeah, you are not the only one having this issue. Been encountering this as well although I have a high end PC.

I’ve seen this behaviour as well and I suspect GTA itself is the cause.
If I get above ~130 fps or more this will happen sometimes. Enabling vsync (60 fps for me) makes the issue disappear.
The same problem happens to a buddy with vsync on (165 fps). Setting it to half vsync works for him.
Also recently there have been issues in GTA itself where a higher framerate can literally break a singleplayer mission.

My specs:
Ryzen 7 5800x
Zotac GTX 1080 Amp Extreme
32 GB Ram @ 3600MHz
GTA and FiveM on SSD

My buddy has an even better PC (4080 etc)

Enabling V-Sync (full and half) were one of the many things I tried. So for me it’s probably not a high-framerate caused issue. But I’m still looking for ideas!
