[FREE] [STANDALONE] Server Sectors

This script is no longer supported, or maintained.

Hi!

About:
Using FiveM’s bucket system I created a resource that allows the server owners to create different sectors of the server.
This gamestate-split feature exists in FiveM by default, I just made a resource so it can be used easier.

Please note that this resource won’t redirect you to any other server, you’ll stay on the server you were with the same scripts.

Usage:
All you have to do is edit the config file. I included a little documentation so you can understand it better.
If you have any questions feel free to ask me in messages, or here under this post.
When the user joins another sector a client event gets triggered: “server_sector:changedSector”

RegisterNetEvent("server_sector:changedSector",function(newSector)
    print("yay, I joined", newSector)
end)

Using this you can for example teleport the player somewhere else when they join let’s say the lobby!
(newSector is the SectorId from the config)

nice work

Nice release but would it maybe be possible to have a command instead of a keybind and also add ace permissions?

I tried to do it myself but for some reason after doing it once I open the menu I can’t close it anymore

Absolutely! I was planning to do some changes in the resource.
(ace permission and command trigger is on that list)

I’ll keep you updated here

I just managed to figure it out myself thanks tho for the quick answer if you want I can also send you the modified files I have in case that helps you to add it to yours since on mine I just completely removed the keybind and only have the command left

You can post it on github, and submit a pull-request. It’s probably the easiest way to do it.

Done

I love to see people using buckets instead of instances scripts, great one nice release.

Good evening Sorry for my question which will seem stupid to people who have the answer but personally I don’t have it. When we are in a bucket we can only see the people in that same bucket but for the sound it’s the same? Do we only hear the people in the same bucket, or do we hear everyone in the existing buckets as long as we’re close? Thank you for your answer.

Hey!

It’s a good question, I haven’t tested my resource with any kind of voice system, but it completely depends on it.

If let’s say you can hear everyone, from any distance I assume you would hear people from other buckets too.
If it’s distance based you would only hear the people that are in your bucket, because basically those are the only player your client can “see”.

This might need some testing, but for a final answer, it depends on the voice system.

Thank you very much for your clear and complete answer, it is much appreciated. I’m talking about the original five-m voice system, which is based on distance, so you’ve answered my question perfectly well. Thank you, this is excellent for the buckets apartment system. Last question and I bother you more for the buckets we can use 1 2 3 4 up to how much? or it is even possible to use 0.1 0.2 0.3 ect ect as for voice channels … ?

You can only use exact numbers for bucketId like 5, 10, 3, 50 and the limit is only 63. Also please note that using buckets will increase your server needs. You may experience a higher memory usage.

If you need an explanation you can check out the replies on this page Routing buckets: split game state – FiveM Cookbook
