Sandy Shores Drive In

Located behind the motel on Joshua Rd, the remains of the Sandy Shores Drive In. Due to DVDs and streaming services the Drive In has shut down and become another derelict site adding to the Sandy Shores charm.

The deteriorated big screen, advertising signs and ticket hut remain, but ruined through neglect, the remains of the projector booth can be found in the middle of the paddock.

---- INSTALL ----

Drag the folder to the resources folder and start/ensure in server.cfg.

Nil known issues, limited number of props and 3 custom signs

---- USE ----

Can be used anywhere, edited etc. Not to be sold separately or as part of a package

The drive in sits on the same block as the Sandy Shores Cemetary Sandy Shores Cemetery

haha sorry about that, I did a nice housing estate and received comments that it was too swank for sandy and didnt fit the atmosphere.

Also, I dont have the editing skills yet to be able to edit the base ymap in blender to make it flat as a car park for the drive in.

I’ll keep practising thou, each map gives me more skills :grinning:

Thanks for the comments, dont get much feedback so not sure how the maps are received.

maps are received with low respect … only due to the huge number of people doing them now adays … mapping back when i started you would get a massive amount of people liking and that … 2024 mapping really isnt worth doing ( is if you own a server) but to release on here there no point anymore

i dont think this statement is true, i think that even tho demand for maps may have gone down, its never a bad idea to post your maps / scripts / etc here, there are always new servers, and new people excited to see what other people have made.

as far as this map, i added it and the cemetery to my server, i think they both are a really good map, with some nice detail.

could you create a old bank or other buildings like this for the area, i really think it adds character to the Sandy Shores area.

its funny, after BM made that comment, i checked through all the free map releases and saw i was probably the only one regularly making and releasing maps, and of course, no feedback, was kinda bummed, but never mind, ppl can use them or not. Its a hobby and fun so I’ll keep making them. I havent mastered blender for editing the ground or making mlos so not sure i can make what you want. If you notice, i use the current buildings etc and just add around them. Got the sandy waste centre to release this week, just need to tidy up some stuff with it. thanks for the feedback :grinning:
