Let me preface the following review by saying that I have been a part of Georgia State Roleplay since it split from another server a few years back. I’ve held various positions within the community - going as far as Senior Admin back in late 2019/early 2020. For some background info, GSRP was the result of a split between another State Roleplay server’s community; with Nixx taking half and forming GSRP. Key is Nixx, we’ll be talking about him more later.
GSRP has lasted for as long as it has due to its’ fairly laxed ruleset. In the end, most of it comes down to ‘common sense’ with lower ranked staff members and the few ‘chill’ staff outright refusing to enforce some of the tighter rules present. This also paved the way for groups to flourish within GSRP, which created an official Civilian Department; which was mainly run by the Deputy Director, Tyler M. to host some of these groups as they became noticeable on the server.
Over the past couple years however, GSRP has slowly deteriorated; mainly as a result of the staff heirachy. Staff in GSRP is fairly similar to most servers you’d find; moderators, admins, senior admins, etc. However, a unique trait is that GSRP is one of the few servers to not have a Board of Directors-type ownership. It is all headed solely by Nixx (whomst is pro LEO) and ultimately, all decisions regarding GSRP are at his mercy.
Unfortunately, Nixx has become the reason why this server is starting to fall from a peak it once held in 2020. Nixx has amassed a cult of personality; in other words, only recruits ‘yes’ men for the upper command of the staff team who aren’t allowed to even question his decisions or leadership. Let’s not forget that a bunch of these guys are incredibly poisonous, and pretty much act like grown babies when things do not go their way; some will go as far as threaten to DDOS or DOX you if they really don’t like you. I’m not going to be naming any names, but it should be fairly obvious who these people are. It’s effectively now transformed most of the staff team into a bunch of ‘holier than thou’ types who always believe they are right and the other is wrong. This has recently been tested hard as Nixx has slowly made the decision to ‘monetize’ GSRP in an attempt by introducing ‘donation packages’ to help bloat his oversized wallet.
Remember the Civilian Department I had mentioned prior? Nixx started making changes back in 2021 to limit what civilian players could do (remember; pro LEO) in the Department. At one point, a max of 3 civilians only were allowed for any type of group; even for passive roleplay. This was all part of Nixx’s idea of a ‘LEO-based server’, in other words civilians get nothing to really use, and it really started to show near the end of the year.
I’d discussed groups which became part of the Civilian Department. Anyways, Nixx started adding new rules for civilians, restricting a bunch of types of group RP. One of the largest groups in GSRP got affected by these rules, being forced to stop entirely and cutting off a whole military-based group that LEO and civs both enjoyed roleplaying with. Solely because Nixx didn’t believe in the idea that military groups could benefit a LEO based server, I guess.
The kicker came at the start of this year when Nixx decided to remove the Civilian Department entirely, and a lot of civilian related tools that were in the server; introducing the ‘donation packages’ I had mentioned prior as a half-assed replacement (one I might mention is against FiveM’s ToS…). This effectively leads into now; a slowly dying server all at the fault of its’ one ‘supreme leader’ who thinks LEO RP is superior to Civ RP in every way. If you want to watch a large server at the end of its’ lifespan, feel free to join and check it out. Otherwise, it’s probably best to try and find another server. This one is way past its’ prime, and without new leadership it’s not going to be rebounding any time soon.
