Issue:
When googling “FiveM Early Exit Trap” these are the common solutions, which only seemed to help a handful of people:
Disable Overlays & Game Filters & Cideo Capture
Check GPU Drivers
Clear FiveM Cache & Server Folders
Clear Rockstar Cache & Verify Game Files
Antivirus & Background Software Exclusions
Windows Repair/Reinstallation
While none of the aforementioned solutions worked, I did figure out that FiveM would initialize on it’s own half of the time, (WITHOUT STEAM) but immediately crash with Early Exit upon logging into a server which required steam. It would fail to include the report ID. This led me to check the logs and realize it was crashing due to a faulty authentication code relaying with steam.
Solution:
Exited Fivem and its subprocesses.
Disabled the Steam Beta Client.
Exit steam
Check Citizen.ini folder - added two text lines:
“SavedBuildNumber=3258” and “UpdateChannel=canary”
Launch FiveM
Launch Steam
(Quick restart just to be safe)
Voila
This issue seems to be pretty prevalent with the new steam update, especially if FiveM or Steam suddenly close.
Disclaimer “i did not make this guide, but it seems to be the steam beta which is the problem”
