Jay, I managed to fix this error. I also have an NVIDIA graphics card and found out that the issue is related to the NVIDIA overlay, which prevents the game from loading.
The solution I found was to disable the NVIDIA overlay using ALT + Z. After disabling it, FiveM opened normally. Hope this helps!
You’re close, but not exactly on. To the OP and everyone else having this issue:
Go into your Nvidia App (GeForce Experience if you’re still for some reason using it, too) and disable the “Game Filters” functionality in the app settings completely. That is the cause, not the overlay or the nvcontainer processes, which simply try to run said filters which leads to the issues.
