If an issue with starting: Filepath to FiveM folder D Drive Which antivirus/firewall software are you using? Avast Did you try to disable/uninstall your Anti-virus? Not happening.
I have tried clearing my cache, previous when I did it it helped but it loads again and then continues to be an issue. I’ve tried moving the install path for both FiveM and GTAV to my D Drive incase it was a storage issue plus I cleared space on my C Drive to allow more storage incase. I’ve created a second GTA5 Install Path and renamed it to GTA5M and told FiveM where it was in the CitizenFX.ini, I’m hoping it’s using that because my normal GTAV folder has LSPDFR which is why I changed install paths originally was to see if that was causing some turbulence.
Essentially what is happening is all when I connect to a server (any server) it loads slower than it has in the past and when I read the F8 console it throws some errors I don’t usually see like “DO FIX THE ABOVE ^” and it’ll say some warning of Loadsomething took 11575ms or something to that effect, and I’m a bit worried because it takes upwards of 10+ minutes to even get to the “Awaiting Scripts” spinning circle while it loads my character in, and that takes ages as well. I’m hoping it’s not a processor issue and my Laptop being older means it’s going out?, or worse I can’t play FiveM properly.

So I found out it’s likely do to the fact that my computer is not allowing FiveM to use enough resources to load, because most of the issues I have with it are fixed after setting priority in Task Manager to “High” instead of “Normal”. Unfortunately this is unexceptable and has also never been an issue until recently, this process kills the rest of my programs in the background including Discord, one of the most important applications I can have available to me during use of FiveM, and killing this program is a huge detriment to the enjoyability of FiveM. Again, my laptop has never had this issue before, and I’ve tried all I knew about/was suggested to me but this is the only real resolution, but it’s not good enough.
When you log into a server you are downloading client side files - perhaps if it’s not in your main drive, it’s conflicting and not communication with your cache file and where fivem is installed. I would also clear up more space in case the client side files don’t have enough room.
I moved it to my 3 TB external storage drive, which is plugged into my Laptop, I cleared some space on my C Drive (OS) just in case, but I didn’t see a difference when I moved it to my D Drive with plenty of room, I can try moving it back with a larger storage amount on my C Drive, but if it doesn’t solve the problem that whole theory goes out the window.
As expected still loads slow and gives off the warning error in the Console, 280 GB free on C Drive (Internal) and 2+ TB free on my D Drive (External). No changes in either.
