System specifications

  • Intel Core i7 4790k
  • nVidia GTX 1060 6GB
  • 16GB RAM
    I think these are all that are necessary

What did you do to get this issue? - I simply saved an instant replay
What server did you get this issue on? - Project Homecoming but I tried even on the main screen and it happens there too
CitizenFX.log file -
[Game]
IVPath=C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Grand Theft Auto V
DisableNVSP=0

.dmp files/report IDs - Not sure what these are, if they are referring to FiveM error crashes, then this isn’t my case

I tried adjusting the bitrate, I tried both with windows capture and without, adjusting the time it records from 20 to 5 minutes, I believe this is FiveM-exclusive problem as no other games I own have this problem, tested on vanilla GTA V, Fallout 4, Stardew Valley, CSGO, Team Fortress 2 and Conan Exiles.

I would very much appreciate a reply, thanks in advance

im pretty sure FiveM and Shadow play do not play nice with each other and actually causes stability issues, i got shadow play turned off on mine due to an issue it had with FiveM and i simply dont use it.

i use OBS for all my recording needs.

I tried with OBS but it severely affected my FPS, from 60 (VSync on) to 30-55. I can do VSync off but on the server I play, your laptimes are not recorded if your VSync isnt on

odd, i get no FPS impact with OBS it could be your settings as i adjusted mine for when i stream and record and still keep good enough video quality.

i also have vsync on but what do you mean by laptimes? you refering to like race lap times?

yes the laptimes i get from racing.

thats interesting, thats something i will have to test.

We don’t have ShadowPlay source code, so we can’t investigate, reproduce nor fix this problem.

Use a different recording application, or complain to NVIDIA, who will probably ignore this despite it being an issue on their side.

Why would a server check this or break like that? Contact those server admins and tell them to actually use delta times.

Were you using the NVIDIA encoder option? It should be noted that NVIDIA capture sources in other software than ShadowPlay/GFE still aren’t a possibility on GeForce cards thanks to NVIDIA DRM, so if you rely on this for low-latency capture you’ll have to whine to NVIDIA who will completely ignore this problem.
