If it doesn’t ask you to select your gta5 folder it has auto detected it. If it does ask you to select it then go select your gta5 folder. What’s exactly the problem?

so I ahve installed it like 7-8 time… first when I install it, it does not ask me for the location of GTA… when the installation is done, I dont see an exe file for fiveM but if I go to FiveM\FiveM.app\cache\game, I can see a launcher which if I open it says the game is not installed on my PC… after some otehr trials I someone managed to get FiveM but it does not detec steam… (I don’t know how I did it, I think I ran it as admin and stopped mid update or opened the single player FiveM)

My suggestion would be to delete anything FiveM related then:

  1. Open your GTAV folder
  2. Create a folder titled something like “FiveM”
  3. Drag & drop the FiveM.exe file into that folder
  4. Double click on FiveM.exe and let it install.

Also, do you have a legitimate copy of GTAV or a pirated version?

legit

Please don’t install FiveM in your GTAV folder

This is normal it should auto detect

Make sure steam is open in background before you start FiveM

Don’t run FiveM as admin

Been installed like this for 2.5 years with zero issues whatsoever.

the problem is I dont even get the EXE for fiveM it disappears

might it be the Avast? deleteing the EXE in case its a virus? how to not do that? disable Anti virus and then install?

99% Avast is deleting your FiveM executable… try disabling or adding as exception. Try follow this guide

ok i followed the steps… now what should I download the client then make an exeption and then run the client installation>?

Add the fivem folder as exception then run
