FiveM not asking for GTA V gamefile location on first run

Gta version is fully updated and loaded into Story and Online.
Legit version through steam.

This is a first time installation of FiveM
When running FiveM the first time it starts updating and then gives the error “FiveM needs to update the game cache”.
It never asks for a game location as it should when running the first time. I would guess this is why the error is thrown. The game is not installed on the C: drive.
Are there any way to manually tell FiveM where the files are located, through a config file or similar?

Already verified game through steam, run as admin (gave another error telling me not to to this), deleting FiveM files and retrying (goes directly to updating and then error)

i have the same problem

@GummiKu @masonvilla12 , FiveM will automatically find the default download locations of GTAV, if you have a Steam version/Social Club. It only asks you for the location if the .exe can’t find it.

Also, in the case of asking to update game cache. Try launching GTAV singleplayer, and running around in there for a few. Then close GTAV and run FiveM to see if that fixes your issue.
