Ok i’m getting quite annoyed with this launcher, i don’t mind the slow download speed, but what really makes me mad is that i get a curl code 0x18 error randomly when downloading the 550mb cache files and it DOESNT SAVE the already downloaded data when i exit and relaunch the launcher. I would leave it on all day but i can’t leave it on for 20 minutes without that error popping up and then i have to exit the launcher and relaunch it only to download the same amount of data that i started with. Why won’t this launcher save what it has already downloaded, and is there any way to fix this 0x18 curl code error?

That error screenshot above, you can see the amount of mb downloaded, here is a screenshot (proof) of the data not saving after i exit after the error occurs and relaunch the launcher: http://imgur.com/lNFOQAg.jpg

I’ve provided very detailed information about this error and what occurs, including the screenshots. All i ask is for some opinions on what could be causing this, since many people have this error and there is really no fix (Although a fix would be nice). All i’m asking for is a clue, a direction, something i need to be looking into to getting one step closer to fixing this problem because this is getting quite annoying.

Please make sure your GTA V installation is clean, there are still left-overs from previous modifications in there.

Also, are you running any virusscanners?

If you don’t count windows defender as a virus scanner then no, i don’t have any. And really? I didn’t mod anything and i thought this gta installation was clean since i never noticed any mods, only reason i thought it was clean was because i copied my gta installation and installed ■■■■■■■■■■■ on that copy succesfully without any errors leading me to believe my original copy of gta was clean.

Actually i waited to launch the launcher because people were saying the download speed would get better and that it may have been a server issue, they were right. Launched the launcher today and it downloaded at normal speeds and i didn’t get any error because i also read somewhere that it may be a timeout issue, i can believe that because 0.1 mb/s download rate is likely to cause a timeout issue. Anyway, it’s resolved, i just waited a day and the launcher downloaded at the correct speed.
