FiveM installation causing issues with single player gta?

Hi there,

as this question is not actually related to FiveM itself but more to its general installation process, I try to keep this short and spare the required files, screenshots and reports that were listed in the message template.

During the installation process of FiveM I was asked to update the game cache. As I wanted the installation to proceed I confirmed and afterwards the client downloaded about 1GB of data. Now, as FiveM ist readily installed I keep facing issues starting my single player story mode. It crashes at every startup. The game was modded before and every mod was properly installed in the mods folder. Everything worked fine. Now I ask myself whether this game-cache-update has overwritten my mods files as well and hence causes my game to crash. Does anybody know if that could be a reason to consider? If not, the problem might not be related to the FiveM installation but to something else …

Thanks in advance for your advice :slightly_smiling_face:

Cheers,
Luke

FiveM does not modify your GTA directory ever.
Have you tried verifying your game? (Google it if you don’t know what I’m talking about)
As a last resort, try reinstalling the game. (yeah it’s a hassle)

Hello mraes,

thanks for your quick answer. I actually verified my GTA V just yesterday when I was fixing a major map bug.
I found out that some parts of the map weren’t loading properly and thus missing in the game. I used the -verify
solution to redownload these patches and fix the issue. Afterwards the game worked just fine with all my mods
installed.

Ok, actually, I managed to fix this issue now. It wasn’t FiveM at all, there was a conflicting file of a particular mod that was causing my game to crash. Everything works fine now. So, this topic can be marked as solved

Thanks
