What is the issue you’re having?
FiveM fails with “500. Failure connecting to the Rockstar Games Launcher! (ExitCode = 500)” after FiveM asks to restart for an update or game-data update.
GTA V is owned through Epic Games. GTA V launches normally through Epic Games and reaches the main menu. The Rockstar Games Launcher also opens and I can sign in, but FiveM fails after its restart before I can join a server.
What have you tried already to fix the issue?
- Restarted the PC
- Reinstalled FiveM
- Reinstalled the Rockstar Games Launcher
- Confirmed the Rockstar Games Library Service is running
- Started GTA V normally through Epic Games; it works
- Cleared FiveM Rockstar cache: %LocalAppData%\DigitalEntitlements and %AppData%\CitizenFX\ros_id.dat
- Checked the GTA V folder; no dinput8.dll / ScriptHookV file is present
- Ran both FiveM and Rockstar Games Launcher without Administrator mode
The issue is reproducible specifically after a FiveM update/restart.
What server did you get this issue on?
No specific server – the error happens before joining a server.
