FiveM crashing on startup - legitimacy.dll GetAccountID (0x1569c)

What is the issue you’re having?

FiveM crashing on startup - legitimacy.dll GetAccountID (0x1569c)

What have you tried already to fix the issue?

Hi,

I’m encountering a consistent crash every time I try to launch FiveM. The application shows “Starting FiveM – We’re getting there”, then immediately crashes with the following error: legitimacy.dll!GetAccountID (0x1569c) Botan::Decoding_Error.

Here’s a breakdown of what I’ve already tried:

  • Fully uninstalled FiveM (including AppData\Local and AppData\Roaming folders)
  • Deleted the contents of %localappdata%\DigitalEntitlements
  • Verified GTA V game files using the Rockstar Games Launcher
  • Tried launching FiveM as administrator and using compatibility mode (Windows 8)
  • Made sure the Rockstar Launcher is open and I’m logged in before launching FiveM
  • I own the GTA V Legacy version via Rockstar (not Steam or Epic)

Crash signature sample: legitimacy.dll!GetAccountID (0x1569c) kernelbase.dll!RaiseException legitimacy.dll!AuthenticateDiscourse@legitimacy…

I’ve attached screenshots of the crash windows for reference.

I would really appreciate any help or suggestions to fix this issue.

Thank you
