Okay I’m interested in making/cloning a server build, I have found the build that I’d like to start off with, but I can’t get it too finish completely seems like maybe not every server is available to build from. each build that I’ve been able to launch is just too much for my needs and isn’t controller friendly. how can I be for certain that a build is controller friendly or is there script for controller? is that what vmenu is?
I hope you know that building the server via source limits the people who are able to join given you do not have Adhesive.
The server build itself does not control whether controllers can be used or are “controller friendly.” Depending on how resources are made, this determines whether they are “controller friendly” or not. If a resource uses a key that is mapped to a controller key that interferes with movement, then you may say that it is not “controller friendly.”
There is no resource that makes a server “controller friendly” and vMenu is “menu resource” that has things like spawning cars, changing peds, and a lot more.

understand , thank u for your time fr , okay so i simply tried to start with a copy of gta5 build [3351] im thinking its the basic gta5 game , sorry back tracking ’ building via source ’ your referring to the fivem build templets ?
I can’t get this build to finish are load enough to launch the cfx. browser, and bro i understand if you’re a developer that your time is important, but any way u could point me where i need to go would be awesome,
is there controller script out there? are at least a post are something that would help me better understand what I need to look into more to know the difference between writing a script for either of the two?
- Are you trying to build the source from scratch? Your SS wasn’t done properly so I am unable to see what exactly you are trying to do.
- I do not recommend building the source from scratch if that is what you are doing. I would also not use any old build to start from or even run the server from. Each new build, whether that’s for the FXServer or the client has updates that fixes issues, etc.
- There is no such thing as a “controller script”. I suggest you explain what you are trying to do more clearly so I can better help you.
nah that was a build I tried to start with downloaded it from the list, I started playing cnrv it’s a fun game depending on who’s playing are whatever I’d rather start from that build. but that build number I can’t get to load at all made me think that some owners have all rights to the build maybe. I never got big with keyboard and mouse game play, so I was trying to get a basic platform that’s controller friendly, and then go from there, maybe copy it, and start adding are changing things as I learn. is there a basic gta5 copy that starts from where rockstar left off?
I see you fixed your picture and you are just trying to create a server. Please download one of the most recent builds and not one from years ago.
I also think you are not aware of what you are downloading and doing. These builds are just numbers that increase every time the devs push something out. They have no actual meaning related to GTA or anything with “owners”…?
FiveM is a mod for GTA, this is why you are required to own a valid copy to even play. The server part of FiveM is a bare bones server that has nothing on it. There is nothing from GTA:O or SP that comes with it, meaning if you wanted to have say for example, working apartments, that would be to be coded by yourself or someone else.
GTA is “controller friendly” meaning you have to do nothing to play with it. Again, some resources may add certain functions that in return cause issues with controllers but that is pretty easy to fix.

I understand, I started going down in the numbers because, for some reason maybe I thought I got that number from my copy of gta5 that I own not sure why I thought that was a build number for gta5 lol. I don’t know enough to start from nothing but like you said I’m trying to find a starting point from the basic gta5, it would be controller4 friendly. I’ve been able to start the most resent build,

yea thanks for the info, okay so instead going down in number list would you know of a build that’s around basically a good starting point for me? i know trying to explain this to a nub is hard and not worth your time, so again thank you, if I could get to a good starting to where i can get on play a rp with my kids and not worry about who’s playing are you might be on working staff that night would be great.
You should only be using one of the most recent builds. The builds will be nearly identical but with fixes, optimization, etc.
Do note that these builds have no affect on what is actually provided via GTA. The only thing would be allowing to use the newest game build (IE: mp2024_01)
Please do not confuse game build with what some call server version, server artifacts, server build. The game builds can be found here. They add the new features from the GTA update they represent.
