so i have esx_phone how do i put the gcphone in

Delete esx_phone and install gcphone.

do i have to do anything with the database?

There is probably a .SQL file for the GC phone.
Open it with notepad++/sublime editor, just a editor and see what the file is importing to the database.
Match it with your current database from esx_phone and if it match, then you can just add the new GC phone files.
