So, I have RedM and FiveM and whenever I connect to a server and it starts to download the assets, it downloads it very slowly even though my own internet connection is stable and fast, I cannot make it faster. Whenever there is an asset that is around ~50mb or higher it causes an error to appear when the assets are downloaded. The client tries to connect three times to the server and it doesn’t do so succesfully causing me having to reconnect to the server. I thought at first it was only the one server on FiveM but apparently it’s a problem that happens with RedM servers too. Any ideas on what I could do?

In some cases, the ‘TCP window size scaling auto-tuning’ option in Windows may have been changed from the default. I’m not sure if this exactly is the case here but you can revert this using the following command in an administrator Command Prompt:

netsh interface tcp set global autotuninglevel=normal

Other than that something else might be happening regarding receive window sizes elsewhere on the network link - does a speedtest.net test while selecting a server far away (another continent? ideally one similar to where the server you’re connecting to is hosted) still return an appropriate speed?

Hi, thanks so much for the response! I did what you suggested and doing a speedtest.net in the US (I’m from Europe) gives me only 10mbps less than when I do it from a Dutch server. I hope your solution works but we’ll see! Do you have any other options?

I wanted to let you know that ever since I used that fix, the download speed’s been way better! Thanks so much.
