I’m having an issue with editing existing billboards and banners in my FiveM server. When I extract and modify the YTD files to change the billboard textures, the new textures appear correctly when I’m close. However, when I move away, the old textures still show up in the distance. As I get closer again, the edited version appears.
It seems like the game is loading an older LOD (Level of Detail) texture from a distance, but I’m not sure how to fix this. Has anyone encountered this issue before? Can someone provide guidance or link a tutorial on how to properly edit textures so that they are visible from all distances?
Open it in CodeWalker, make sure you’re on the LOD viewing mode, find the relevant LOD-specific YDR (usually YDR, could be YDD, depends) model for the LOD part that contains the billboard you need and edit its textures too.
It tells you the name of the “textureDict”, which is the filename of the relevant LOD model with the texture you need to edit. Find it in the basegame files, edit it accordingly and throw the new YTD into any stream folder, it should stream as direct replacement
