Howdy, First and foremost I’ve literally never made a forum post here on CFX, but I think I’ve stumbled across a pretty neat idea, and am hoping someone here can point me in the direction of someone to talk to about making it happen, or someone can just take the idea and make it!
As many of you ive played the same map for what seems like forever, and when you get down to the water ways, there is literally no change ever. SO my idea is to connect the Alamo sea to the ocean with by editing the map to change the small farm land canal to a full river with rapids! this would allow more access in and out of the sea, and give a new life to the grapeseed area! this would allow for new bridges, fishing areas, even parks or stops along the way. Ill try to add some pictures below of the area if it will let me, but I figured I would try and send the idea out so you people that are way smarter than me could take a gander at it! thank you for your time!
This is a very interesting idea, I never even fathomed this as a possibility, never had the same thought. Very good idea my friend, give me just a bit to look at the terrain.
I agree ! Would love to honestly modify that entire area, grapeseed for most cities is dead, we can totally revive that place
I’ve been looking into the terrain and YDRs, and it seems pretty straightforward to add a waterway. If we lower the terrain, the water.xml already handles the water underneath, so it should show up without much hassle. I think I can get something put together fairly quickly, but it might take a while to polish it up to a high-quality version. For now, I’ll focus on clearing out geometry and collisions in the spots where we want the water. It won’t look perfect at first, but it’ll give us a good idea of how the water will look and how much geometry we’ll need to adjust.
Obviously things take time, but do you have some place i can follow along with this? Maybe a discord or something, i cant even believe so many people have showed this much interest in a random idea i had lmfao, id love to follow along with the progress over time!
