if your friends can join and not you then its something on your end… some sort of network problem locally… not much we can do to help you there.

all i can suggest is editing your hosts file and adding 192.168.1.23 232.253.232.12 first ip being the ip address of the computer hosting the server and the second being the external ip so you can use that ip intead… if its hosted on the same system then connect using your computers network ip and not by using localhost “127.0.0.1” use the ipv4 address.

ugghh where do i add the 2 ips?

this is confusing me a lot, I am new to FiveM server hosting. is this the only problem? and is there another way to fix it?

its very simple just follow the instructions otherwise i would recommend buying a dedicated server or VPS.

but its legit simple.

Press the Windows key.
Type Notepad in the search field.
In the search results, right-click Notepad and select Run as administrator.
From Notepad, open the following file: c:\Windows\System32\Drivers\etc\hosts
Make the necessary changes to the file.
Click File > Save to save your changes.
