Nothing was said about ‘scripts’ being removed
Somehow I had the feeling that Rockstar Games had planned all along to bring down FiveM with the fewest votes and here is already one gear, what next? You are no longer allowed to speak or imitate something in the style of a public figure?
Eventually, the source code of FiveM is available to everyone, and if you, as a project, want more “freedom,” you can always compile your own FiveM server and client for your project and provide it to your players.
Yes there has. CFX staff has went and de-listed many paid assets on the forums since the merger, example being baby scripts which were made for female rp.
This person absolutely does not have IP rights to sell this under a royalty free license. Even Turbosquid has a huge in-depth licensing structure with additional fees based on their agreements with the proper IP holders.
I don’t think you understand there are many different licenses from editorial use to full commercialization and reusing in other mediums.
This might be a good read for you The TurboSquid 3D Model License - TurboSquid Blog
More specific example for GM that helps prove “this is not copyright” logic wrong. https://support.turbosquid.com/hc/en-us/sections/360002679392-General-Motors"
Eventually? It already is. How do you think the general public create pull requests?
Read again my message.
Wow, so OpenIV is against TOS?
Are we to just play vanilla GTA with no maps, and embed texture on our “un-branded” vehicles? ![]()
Is 3ds Max next to be against TOS? SMH.
Show your work, explain your logic.
Well, which server would get more attention?
The server which only offers GTA’s vehicles
OR
The server which offer reallife versions of the vehicles the other server has
That’s your profit.
The number of replies which continually keep whining about copyright laws this, and fair use that, are ridiculous. The laws don’t matter. Your nation’s fair use laws, don’t matter.
The branded content is against the terms of service to play Grand Theft Auto V. If you use it, you’re breaking the license agreement. You don’t own GTA5, you own a license to play it which Rockstar can revoke on their prerogative.
None of these change this:
- Getting permission from the company to use their brand
- Buying the model from a 3D model site and not ripping them
- Debadging the model
- Fair use laws
People are unwilling to listen or unable to understand the laws they keep parroting out. If you want to argue fair use, you need to go and make your own game and then use those assets and argue fair use in court against those brands. People who cited the article above about Call of Duty are fundamentally not understanding what those articles are about. A court agreed they are transformative art in the case between the developer of the game and the owner of the IP. People making cars/clothes/ugc in FiveM are not the same. You are not developers and are working with brands you aren’t allowed to import into GTA5. You are mod-makers for Rockstar’s game, you don’t get to decide how they manage their game.
Its not CFX’s fault users decided to give the person money instead of report them.
You are able to use the natives provided to write code that changes functionality of your server.
Planned to bring down FiveM? Why would R* take time and MONEY to have their legal go over the TOS and rewrite them if they were just going shut it down anyway? Why would R* be spending tine and MONEY to upgrade CFX’s infrastructure and align all of it together, upgrading RedM specifically to start being more on par with FiveM? If R* wanted to shut down FiveM, how are any of us still talking to each other the FiveM forums?
And @N31RD what did you see that makes you believe OpenIV is against TOS?
Everyone saying there tos says this it specifically says in this post
If you use a real-world car model pulled from another game without permission, that could result in claims against your server by both the car company (brand, logo, car design) or the game developer (3D model). they are not stating you can not use real brands at all and not talking about hum3d etc .
I even read the entire PLA Agreement doesn’t say anything you can’t have irl brands
Where are you getting this info
Rockstar site in there elua, TOS talks about GTA Online not FiveM this is so confusing and bullshit Cfx needs to be more clearer on the where you can’t have real life cars , brands, etc.
That’s an example of how you would acquire illegitimate assets. The line directly above your highlighted says what you are looking. No real world brands. No using other IP. They just use stealing from another game as an example because thats where the majority of the illegitimate assets come from.
If laws don’t matter or fair use matter then why are you telling people your breaking DMCA Laws aka Copyright Law if this is all going against Rockstar Games Terms so if it isn’t the actual United States copyright laws and others laws then by actual law we can use real life brandings , logos , etc. but to rockstar games tos we can’t this is totally bullshit FiveM aka Cfx has always broken rockstar terms of service was never shutdown or punished but now that rockstar acquired CFX this is a big issue now I feel that it should be what it was if the actual Car Companies etc didn’t like you using their content then they come after you it shouldn’t Be rockstar games because rockstar games doesn’t own irl brandings or car companies ford dodge , Chevy is owned by them this is the dumbest thing that rockstar games has ever done . Rockstar games doesn’t like real life RP they never did screw rockstar it’s a game at the end of the day the real law doesn’t care
It’s their fault for allowing it on the forums for as long as they did. They only started removing posts recently and im not talking about flagged content. Im refering to content they tracked down themsevles and de-listed. They could have done that initially but they didn’t, even though that’s part of their job to enforce their TOS around the clock, not when it’s convenient for them.
My main focus is resources that were never against TOS and are now removed due to the changes that have been made. We should 100% be refunded since we did infact follow tos when buying those assets that were never against TOS until now.
I have never paid for IRL vehicles as I knew they were against TOS.
The fact is, the CFX team has had time to implement a better system to de-list anything that violates their TOS and they only did something once CFX was bought by R*. That is a bunch of bull. They got their money from sales and didn’t care one bit before, but now they do.
It says here that they don’t allow the use of real world branded anything…

im from Ethiopia do I have to follow this
