Client Update: Server Access Requirements

Client Update: Server Access Requirements

We have just released a new update for the FiveM and RedM clients focused on improving the ways you access and interact with servers.

What’s New?

Server Allowlisting

You’ll now see a padlock icon next to names in the server list when the server requires you complete an allowlist process before you can play. For example, an application that needs to be filled in, a Discord server that needs to be joined, etc.

Additionally, you can now share instructions on how to get allowlisted on the server details page.

Server owners will be able to set this icon within txAdmin’s next update, or via the sv_appearAllowlisted and sv_allowlistInstructions convars.

sv_appearAllowlisteddictates if the lock icon appears, and sv_allowlistInstructions allows you to add instructions on how to get allowlisted to your server details page.

It is up to the server owner to confirm whether their server has an allowlisting process or not.

Server Upvotes Icons

We have also added a new Upvotes icon and removed the number of total Upvotes from the server list. The total number of Upvotes applied to any one server can be viewed by hovering over the new Upvotes icon, which now displays a tooltip.

We plan to continue deploying more updates to the FiveM and RedM clients throughout the year, so stay tuned for more news on this coming soon!

what about some updates that will help R4GE:MP devs migrate their server easier?

Why would they do such a dumb thing lol

Will we ever get the chance to actually know if a player is boosting our server? So… you know… we can actually reward them?

Also, just to make it a bit clear on the “Server Access” thing. There aren’t any new funtionality added to the servers, right? Just a bool value, and a string to let people know that it’s an allowlisted server, instead of searching for “allowlist” in the search bar?

Now that the buttons have been updated, will there be enough time to fix the unfair competition between servers with fake players and selling outside of Tebex? What do you think?

lol this is why you close sourced the ui?

gg good game

Yes it’s only a visual cue. And a new filter parameter that goes along the option so player can filter out allowlisted servers that added this convar.

Maybe these developers should start reading the documentation and learn how to migrate their servers on their own instead of expecting someone to push an update and make everything magically work smoothly. :face_with_hand_over_mouth:

There was a new docs page published yesterday on how to migrate scripts from other platforms. Some improvements have already been suggested so keep an eye on it! Migrating from other GTAV multiplayer platforms - Cfx.re Docs

Instead of hiding upvotes behind another layer that normal players wouldn’t know to check, can we please remove them altogether? They do nothing but promote credit card fraud, and servers find ways to exploit the system for their own benefit. In the early days, upvotes may have been needed to help maintain the platform, but they are not needed now. The top 10 slots for servers are monopolized by two or three server owners, and no one else will ever be able to compete. This is terrible for the community. Most of these servers are botted misleading or traps, and there often some of the least functional servers on the platform. New players join these “top” servers, get scammed or have a terrible experience and then leave the platform immediately never coming back.
