Guys, hello! I have a problem such as collisions that are not changable for some reason. Did anybody heard about method of changing collisions with MLO and portals or something like that or maybe there is some methods to make changes in unchangable ybn files
Just FYI, that question makes 0 sense. Portals have nothing to do with collisions, the latter is exclusively handled in YBN files (excluding embedded YDR collisions, but you shouldn’t be messing with those unless you really know what you’re doing); if you need to change a collision, modify the YBN. CodeWalker lets you do it directly and is recommended for “minor” changes, but anything major or baking new collisions will require 3DS Max and/or Blender with tools to convert to the right format.
EDIT: There aren’t be any “unchangeable” YBN files, you’ve either got the wrong file, or your collision is doubled (i.e. handled by 2+ YBN files at the same time) - make sure to verify all that.
Oh, how could I check if there is two ybn files at the same time? Please, I really don’t understand (>_< )
Use CodeWalker and play around with its Collisions viewmode, that’s about the best advice I can give you. Usually files doing the same thing have similar names as well, but not always.
as 4Iy said, you need to understand and learn alot before you muck around with ybns etc.
Get codewalker, go around the map moving props, tree and buildings, look at the side panel window (selection) and see what file are what. Switch views between
AND
Go through all the views in the drop down menu
AND
Get on Youtube, watch as many vids and tuts about mapping that you can find.
Dude, I understand what is collisions, how they work, what is the difference between mlo and worlds collisions and how to change them. I have a problem with file named ch1_01_15.ybn and I just trying to find solution. If you can change it, I will be really surprised, cause I just can’t understand, why this file don’t want to change.
