You need do something about people spam the release channel, I see many sell Rockstar clothing. Many people report for copyright, you don’t care. Disgusting. Also many people they talk big like they somebody, like they have insider knowledge. They know nothing. Shut up. Do not know anything.
Could we receive some clarity around using R*'s GTAV IP as creators? I’ve seen mixed responses about whether or not we’re able to use existing brands or identities in GTAV in the assets we create and sell for this platform.
i.e.
- A creator creates a uniform set with the Los Santos Customs logo on the clothing. Are they able to sell this on their Tebex store?
- A creator creates props for the Up N Atom restaurant that are branded with the Up N Atom logos. Are they able to sell this on their Tebex store?
Clarification here would be great!
for example not using Tebex for payments that kind of stuff…
From my reading of the TOS, the language on the usage of Tebex for donations/contributions to servers is extremely vague. It leaves a gray area where you can accept payments/donations/transact outside of Tebex in some cases and Even Tebex warns you (and explicitly does not allow) “donations” via their platform, so there are situations where using Tebex as the processor of payments is actually against TOS.
So, if you’re running a server where you don’t make a profit (rare, but they exist), does that violate the TOS if you take donations to pay for server costs, etc.? Maybe? Maybe not? Even if you did, Tebex would potentially ban you from the platform for breaking their TOS.
Tebex is the worst marketplace ever created, but the vague TOS and Tebex’s purposefully misleading and confusing terms make payment processing on FiveM impossible to understand.
Real.
Doesn’t Cosmic King Of The Hill Uses Real Life Vehicles?
Yeah Real Brand Tanks etc.
If the vehicle models are appropriately licensed, it’s less of an issue with military equipment/weapons.
Ok but what about Real Weapons?
I’m going to assume for the sake of simplicity, that all models purchased are bought from people who made the models and didn’t use unauthorized assets from another game.
Using real weapons like an ak47, mg42 would be acceptable as these weapons never had trademarks filed, and can’t be protected by anyone.
In the case of more modern weapons, specifically weapons designed for modern militaries, as long as you don’t use their exact design ( some you can) designs and military designations you should be good.
Ar15 = no
M16 = yes
There can be some restrictions on design (for example, Glock claims the Glock silhouette as trademark) but there is significant space to move around here considering there’s only so much you can do with a gun shape.
Your best bet is to stick to guns manufactured for militaries and use their military designations, or make them up and use made up guns that approximate real world counterparts.
One year already, wow
So how can CFX can promote a server that violates it’s TOS?
TOS article 4.4 :
Commercial Exploitation. You may not commercially exploit […] (2) the sale of in-game virtual currencies for real-world currency or cryptocurrency; […]
It’s funny to see R* promotes an illegal server that are against their TOS in this anniversary post.
Cosmic sells coins on their tebex
How can be trust R* if they don’t double check what they promote…
Someone needs to tell R* that GTA Online violates their own TOS. Shark Cards, anyone? This company is a joke.
TOS we talk are for FiveM, not for GTA Online.
I’m aware. Rules for thee, not for me.
yay
A donation is accepting money but not giving anything in return to the one donating. If you give anything in return (ingame assets, special badge on Discord etc.), it is no longer a donation but a sale.
That should answer your question?
As a creator, the potential unleashed by this partnership is crazy! Can not wait to see what happens in the year ahead.
I honestly can’t tell if this is bait or if you’re just that stubborn and foolish.
4.4 states that you cannot commercially exploit the rights granted to you. You being users of the service.
Terms of service are an agreement between a service provider and a person using that service. You agree to the terms offered by the provider. The provider might include some terms which state they will or will not do certain things – but they are not beholden to the terms given to users.
R* is the developer and publisher of the game – that inherently gives them the right to monetise their game as they see fit. If you honestly believe they have no right to generate additional revenue from their own product I would love to hear your argument.
All my posts get autoflagged. Thanks for just immediately discrediting me. I appreciate it. I also appreciate not being allowed to post my rebuttal.
