Also, just an FYI to the elements, adding that entry does not update the Set Associations window in the protocol section. So, it’s still not fully recognized by windows in that sense. However it does function as intended with that registery update.
Correct, that wasn’t expected - it’s likely that Win7 only supported these for HKLM yet (HKCU is not formally documented but works fine in 10), but unlike 10 it still supports the older method which works for HKCU as well.
Not the best at messing with registry but I think I did it correctly and still not getting the job done. I am on windows 10.
