Up to date? Yes, my game is up-do-date.

Did you try to delete caches.xml and try again? There is no cache to delete.
Error screenshot (if any)

Then after waiting and staring at the screen for five minutes and seeing no progress being made I decided to click cancel. (Last time I tried this I waited for 10 minutes then an error popped up saying failed to receive handshake or something and closed).

Ten seconds later this happened without me clicking or doing anything else on the computer.

After this I clicked on “Yes” on the cache update screen.

Final result. Clicked on “Ok” and nothing happened after that.

Tried to repeat the process three or four times always the same result. One time the FiveM singleplayer icon appeared but still nothing worked. I tried restarting my router, connect to another wifi, change DNS settings, restarting PC, reinstalling GTAV.

Now after I posted this thread I double clicked on fivem.exe again. The singleplayer icon popped up again and I started updating all over again, still failing like all the other tries.

Are FiveM update/download whatever servers down or what? Im not enitrely sure that the problem is on my side since I have played FiveM on this PC before.and the installation as far as I remember went smoothly.

Since my last reply I double clicked on FiveM.exe again.

Now its been stuck like this for minutes.

Since you are on a laptop, make sure you are on a stable WiFi connection. Better yet, connect to Ethernet (LAN cable).

If this doesn’t fix it, make sure your Internet is stable and you have no firewall software running.

Last resort: use a VPN like https://hide.me

TLDR: something in your network is messed up refusing you to connect to FiveM services

I will try out the VPN’s free version to see if it works.
I also tried to download through my phones hotspot but that did not work either.

Great, turns out I did have bitdefender on my computer after all. Uninstalled it and FiveM works perfectly now. Thank you and sorry for wasting your time!
