This is very clearly a network hiccup on your end, try using a different VPN (Cloudflare WARP is a good free one for a test, but don’t use it consistently - it’s quite unreliable) to download the necessary files. If it works on a VPN but not without one, contact your Internet Service Provider for help.

What if it doesnt work with a VPN? Could it still be some kind of network issue?

If you have the NVIDIA beta app enabled, disable it.

Nvidia, doesnt seem to be the issue here, any other ideas for what it might be?

Possibly, but if a VPN doesn’t help then it may be a software bug of some kind. Try a few different free ones just in case, and also - make sure you have enough space on your drive.

Main things that I usually get people to do are:

Check your firewall settings, did you accidentally block FiveM from Accessing the internet

  1. Open Firewall & Network protection
image of windows search showing firewall & network protection

  2. Click Allow an app through firewall

  3. Scroll down to FiveM and make sure that it is allowed through public networks and the tick in front is toggled on.

See if you’re still having issues after that, if you are then try

  1. Right click your network icon on your task bar
network icon on the task bar

  2. Click Network and Internet Settings
    context menu for network icon

  3. Click Ethernet or WiFi (depending on which you’re using).

  4. Click the arrow on the top left to open up the drop down if it isn’t already open

  5. Click Edit on DNS Server assignment

  6. Swap to Manual and toggle on IPv4 and IPv6

For IPv4 put:

Preferred DNS: 1.1.1.1 (this is cloudflares public dns)
Alternate DNS: 8.8.8.8 (this is googles public dns)

Toggle on DNS over HTTPS and select On (automatic template)

It should end up looking like this:

For IPv6 put:

Preferred DNS: 2606:4700:4700::1111 (this is cloudflares public dns)
Alternate DNS: 2001:4860:4860::8888 (this is googles public dns)

Toggle on DNS over HTTPS and select On (automatic template)

It should end up looking like this:

After all of that your DNS Server Assignment should look like this:

what final settings should look like

Hope it fixes your issue
