Also add what you already tried so far. I have tried directly connecting to it get stuck on initializing. I have tried typing the name of the server on the list and it doesn’t show up.

I am new to this fivem thing. I am trying to set up a server for me and my friends. It seems to be running at this point except for the fact that I can not connect to it. When I go to directly connect to it the thing gets stuck on initializing. When I search for it in the server list by name it does not show up. What do I need to do?

Can you show a screenshot of the server console?

From what I was seeing on videos detailing how to set it up this looked pretty normal.

Seems you didn’t cd to the data directory you cloned. :open_mouth:

Do I put that in the startup batch script?

This is what it looks like currently. batch

/d, not \c.

It is not installed on a d drive though…This machine only has a single drive.

Wait i see what you are talking about. Ill change that and try again.

Apparently even though I followed along to several youtube guides it is still messed up. It would be nice if a detailed guide to this was actually published somewhere. I have gotten farther along it seems but this still is not quite operational it would seem. It is stuck on starting the map.

here is what it looks like client side. I dont see what steam has to do with any of this since I am not using a steam copy of the game for this.

The output you received here is correct.

You should now be able to direct connect to the server using the localhost

Looks like you enabled the need for Steam authentication. Make sure you have Steam running to be able to get a Steam ticket

I have steam running but I am not doing this on a steam copy of the game. I will just go and disable the steam authorization thing. If I am having issues with this chances are a few of my friends might too.

is that all that comes up on ur cmd window?

try not to select text in the console, windows makes that result in hanging the console.

Sorry it blocked me from replying for 24 hours because I am new. It works to the point that I can connect to it now but my friends still cant. Progress has been made though. My plan is for this to be an RP server. Do I need to register it somewhere to show up on the list of servers?

no, if you left #sv_master1 "" untouched in your server.cfg, you should have your server listed automatically. May take up to 8 minutes and 15 seconds after booting up your server.

I have not touched that part of the CFG
