When I start FiveM I am unable to click any of the buttons inside the client. I am unsure if FiveM is supposed to start in full screen or windowed but my client starts in windowed. I have tried to alt tab and tab back in and have restarted pc a few times. I am not sure what to do and would really like to play. Thanks for the help.

You use TAB to navigate. It work for me.
I know this is years old, but I recently ran into this and it was because I had to use the F8 menu to join a server. After typing your command, push F8 to close the connection overlay. This will allow you to click again.
