hello, my question is simple.
i have dynamic ip, so i want to use external dns (like no-ip) in my server but when i try to put that ip in ‘Initial IP’ https://keymaster.fivem.net/ doesn’t let me.
and if i use my public ip, all good until my ip changes and then my server does not appear in the master server list anymore.
fivem allows dns or not?
initial ip is just that, just use whatever your current public ip is, once you have your key you can ignore it.
I’m not 100% certain, but pretty sure that the FiveM server list reverse resolves the actual IP so dns wouldn’t matter anyway, neither will a dynamic ip. When your server starts up the server list will be updated with the correct IP (within a few minutes, the server list has a bit of a delay built into refresh to cut down on the load).
also, if you have a server running with active connections your “dynamic” IP shouldn’t change anyway, it would only be if it sits idle or potentially if you restart your sever/router that it even changes.
apparently, after my ip changes, i need to restart the server and then it shows up in the servers list. but it does not reconnect itself, that I know off
