Having the same size or a similar name to a real-life brand does not make it prohibited. For example, you mentioned the tomato ketchup prop, but the real-life counterpart also has “Heinz” written on it, while “Tomato Ketchup” itself is a universal term and cannot be claimed exclusively.
As for the props with similar names, I have deliberately misspelled a few words or created “fake” mascots and “fake” logos for every brand I used. None of the props contain actual real-life branding, unless I may have overlooked something (which I highly doubt).
