Wanted to give some input on what I feel is a lesser noticed issue regarding the release page. Simply put we need some quality checks on these resources.
I understand cfx does not have the staffing currently to meet this but coming from a customer who does purchase these assets I have run into multiple situations where these sellers are selling products that do not actually work.
Buyers have 0 protection and if we were to charge back we get a account locked, so we are consistently faced with the do I risk 20-80$ for this asset or do I not trust that quality products are being sold. It is unfair to put a customer that pays not only for assets but happily supports the cfx project gets faced with contact tebex and hope they agree option instead of getting fair quality checks and some kind of accountability to these sellers.
I don’t care if they even run well, i’m talking bare minimum just work. Multiple Script creators have scripts full of issues and buyers cant do anything about it, we need a refund option at the very least for 24 hours. Source sellers are a bit different of course but nobody that’s selling something quality would in the slightest hesitate over this as an option. At the very least if im missing it could I be directed to a place we are meant to report these sellers selling broken assets?
We have sellers selling assets and removing download links from tebex stores even. I don’t think all sellers are the same way, but I as well as other buyers are literally gambling every time we buy something off a tebex store from the release page.
I will happily pay a higher fee in patreon just to have this, add a dollar extra as buyer protection if you want I am ok with that also but i’m sick of having to argue with people selling broken products.
Im willing to list multiple occasions of this with screenshots/descriptions of situations with multiple sellers to cfx staff from just my occasions alone and is why i’m not posting them publicly here.
As a seller, it feels really discouraging to see people selling resources without any thought put into it, and I sympathize with your issues.
Everytime I sell a resource, I do my due diligence to make sure it works - and it feels as if nobody else does. It’s not fair to the customers, and the creators who actually put time and effort to making their releases fully functional. Creators should be providing a quality product to their customers; and if it’s having errors out of the box after following every instruction - it needs to be fixed or refunded.
Time and time again I have seen my friends and customers fall victim to this from other creators that only care about making a quick buck.
I don’t mind having a similar structure to “post pending”, where prior to paid releases being available they have to be checked - or after a certain amount of views. Another idea would be for a way to report assets rather than posts, maybe through keymaster.
We just need something to ensure the high-quality nature of releases on the forums, rather than the flood of paid releases containing leaks and no effort.
I will have to agree on this, on most of these types of posts I never agree just because I believe CFX/Fivem has done a wonderful job at covering everything and making a wonderful platform for us to play on.
As I do see many scripts unfinished or you has the buyer needs to go into the files and start adding lines. Not everybody knows how to do that, it may be a easy fix for others but not people who’ve never built a server before.
There has been several times where I find myself having to add more lines into the config just to make the script work as it should. You can search the web or the developers discord… Nobody ever knows how to fix the issue because even the owners of the script know how. This brings me to think how are they even selling a script that they cant even help solve issues.
I’m not fully sure what CFX could do regarding this, but maybe before allowing people to post or even try selling product on the forums… Community Leaders or Moderators need to fully examine the script. This could also help with people trying to resell other peoples scripts and catch them.

All sold scripts on Tebex should work out of the box, with only basic installation required.
Resources that require you to modify other resources should be banned, I know that’s an insane idea but it’s valid. It forces a reliance on their resource and isn’t plug-and-play.

That’s a great idea, the only issue would be allocating resources to checking these. I think the commission that FiveM gets on each tebex purchase of a resource should be used to cover the costs of this - as it would be used to improve the related services of monetized resources.
An example of a system like this is found on https://www.gmodstore.com/, they review each garry’s mod resource sold prior to publishing. They take their platform quality very seriously, and it would be awesome if FiveM could implement a similar system.
I think some kind of rating system could control this entirely, while the possibility of review bombing is a real threat it could be only verified purchasers have access.
This as a whole could protect the buyer entirely, and while I respect that some users create their own issues by not following the guides I personally believe its the seller (the one that stands to profit)'s responsibility to make sure the product is actually used and to help facilitate that. If its to complicated to install and an ongoing issue then again thats on the seller.
Regardless of either, nobody on this platform should ever have resources that they have paid for that do not work.
Up my patreon costs, take a higher percentage from the sellers on tebex. We need some accountability, especially with rockstar now being involved. Buyer protection going only to cfx and NOT the seller to ensure we have at least a few days to refund could do this, mark up a script by percentage if need be. You can use that buyer protection as its claimed as your own way of filtering the broken stuff from the buyers.
Exactly they can take 30% of my server earnings… Just provide scripts have need to meet a standard. Along with sooo many scripts are the exact same just different UI. Like this platform should be taken seriously just like spigot.com looks at minecraft plugins before they get posted.
Now, I’m not comparing MC to Fivem, but I see good coming from something like what they do.
Or… CFX, could keep the development forum for help, and tutorials. Then make a separate page full of resources. Many Filters + Rating system on the providers store front / profile page.
In my opinion the main problem is not really this forum but rather Tebex as a whole.
You can’t break Forum rules if you don’t post your resources here. If you already have a lot of followers, you can sell what you want and no one from the forum will notice.
E.g. you can just post “free” releases fully encrypted on Tebex. And that’s also a major problem.
There is also nothing really preventing you from opening a Tebex store yourself. Many stores just look extremely bad, have a lot of spelling mistakes etc. For me this is a giant red flag, but many people just buy anything from anywhere.
(I literally just had a guy buy one of my scripts thinking it was a garage. I don’t sell a garage nor do any of my resources even contain that word. (refunded out of fairness))
My store might not look fancy, but I’m also not a designer and I can still try to be as legit as possible… And without using ChatGPT for my texts…
But with all big communities come a lot of consumers. And we as creators just have to live with this being the case.
Meanwhile I’m still waiting for the “new” release section to arrive some day. Has been announced ages ago but no news yet. I’m hoping for things like an official review section etc.
