Hello.
I was wondering whether an asset (a vehicle in particular) that has been bought from a creator who doesn’t use Tebex can be used in a FiveM server, in the same way that free assets from respected websites (such as gta5-mods.com) can be used in FiveM.
Yes, I believe the only restriction is on server income and encryption. If the Creator is selling you open files it doesn’t violate anything.
This is false. You can only make money with FiveM/RedM using Tebex. This goes beyond server monetization.
Encryption wouldn’t have anything to do with this as encryption is handled on Cfx’s side. Tebex only handles the granting of assets.
Tools like:
https://forum.cfx.re/t/grzyclothtool-create-and-manage-gta5-addon-clothing-packs
They openly create work used for FiveM and earn money outside of Tebex. Their top contributor is a CFX volunteer moderator.
Unless I’m missing something here, either it’s acceptable within the PLA or volunteer mods are violating the PLA/TOS.
That’s a tool used to create stuff, like codewalker. It’s different than someone selling assets to be used in a server.
Pointless semantic games. “What if I buy an add-on car for single-player and then add an fxmanifest,” would be equivalent.
At the end of the day, either stuff like that is allowed or it’s not. It’s all just code and paying people for assets or tools generated in relation to FiveM. No reasonable person would distinguish between the two.
Except one is selling assets for explicit use in FiveM and the other is selling access to tools that do not directly interact with FiveM.
If people want to monetize their resources for FiveM servers, it has to be done through Tebex whether it’s ideal or not. If you don’t believe me, give me a release on the forums that directs users to a non-tebex platform for purchase.
All these assets explicity make FiveM addons and have features for creating assets that only work with FiveM.
An Addon vehicle can work for single player or FiveM. In either case, no one who is
Again, as I mentioned, you are just playing games with semantics.
If you don’t believe me, give me a release on the forums that directs users to a non-tebex platform for purchase.
Linked it already above. The only way to use the most up-to-date version of this tool is to support it on patreon or ko-fi.
Like I said, I don’t believe grzyclothtool or add-on car sellers are violating anything, as we’ve never seen anyone take action regarding tools, resource/code commissions, etc. This differentiation between buying files to make Five M clothing files or buying assets is just an arbitrary thing you’ve created.
It’s not semantics. A tool like grzy cloth tool, codewalker, etc. is not the same as a buying a FiveM ready resource.
If someone has an asset that they created and then converted to FiveM, I agree, that is different but that’s not what it sounds like here. Probably need more information if the OP wants a more clear answer. Like where is the asset from? Is it stripped from another game? Or is it truly a custom model that just needs converted for use in FiveM.
Hello again.
I’m talking about either scratch-made or vanilla converted vehicles (not imported from elsewhere), that the creator wishes to sell via private means of payment (such as PayPal). These vehicles are not escrowed = not linked to my FiveM key, same as free lore-friendly vehicles for FiveM are not linked to anyone’s server key.
My question, therefore, is: Can these assets be used in a FiveM server?
I believe that no one from CFX will block your server just because you purchased a 3D model from someone and are using it in the game, as long as it doesn’t violate any intellectual property (IP) rights. First and foremost, you are the owner of the 3D model, and even if any issues arise, you have the right to convert the model for use in the game yourself. You can also ask someone else to do it for you.
It’s more likely that the seller could face issues, not the buyer, if there is clear evidence that they are making money through FiveM and monetizing outside of Tebex.
