Bug / Issue
When streaming an addon road texture, roads will often display a yellow-tinged color in the distant LODs. This issue is present with All versions of the FiveM Client (release, beta, canary) and all game builds (personally tested versions 2802, 2944, 3095, 3258, 3407)
Reproduction
To reproduce this issue, stream a road texture replacement asset.
For example: GitHub - IDKFORCE/fs-serversidegraphics: FiveM ServerSide Graphics
Connect to a server and observe that road LODs will display a yellow “tint” from far away.
I believe this issue will always happen when streaming road textures, even if you delete all other streamed assets, weather, etc.
Current Temporary Fix/Solution
The current “fix” for this is to go into your Nvidia graphics settings (I have had mixed reports from users of AMD graphics cards saying this visual error affects them), and set anisotropic filtering x16.
You must set it for the gamebuild version of the FiveM client. Doing this via the GTA 5 settings does not provide the same effect. However, doing this via the 3D settings through the Nvidia control panel will fix this.
When a server upgrades to a new game build, all users must again apply this setting. I believe other factors may reset or change with the client to where this does not apply anymore.
Additional Context
I’ve had mixed reports of this working/not working, but doing so via the control panel usually fixes it for me for whatever the current game build is. I’ve had mixed report of this affecting users with AMD graphics cards, I have not been able to pin down a common denominator that links all users, other than streaming/mounting a new road way texture.
All road textures I have ever used or tested this with have cause this yellow road error.
I’ve observed this issue on my own server, and many other servers that use similar road replacement textures.
