10 Bath Tubs with Extras and Ducks

Bathtub Mobile

Ten drivable bathtubs for your server. Hop in, sit in the bubble bath and drive off, on the road or straight into the sea. Each tub is a real add-on vehicle with a model of its own, from a white porcelain clawfoot tub to a pirate ship with a mast and a cannon, and each has its own twist: its horn, its boost, its handling.

What you get

10 tubs, 10 twists

Ten custom models, not ten paint jobs. Each has its own collision, 5 levels of detail and a rubber duck dressed for it.

  • The Bathtub Mobile – a white porcelain clawfoot tub on whitewall wheels, chrome faucet, valve-wheel steering, a towel, a back brush and a bubble bath. The duck squeaks as the horn.
  • The Royal Soak – a solid-gold tub with a jewelled crown, a champagne bath, a gold goblet and a sceptre. The horn plays a fanfare.
  • Monster Soak – a flame-painted tub lifted on a frame with giant knobby wheels, coil-overs, exhaust stacks and a skull. Air horn and off-road grip.
  • Hot Tub Cruiser – a square wooden hot tub with massage jets, a cocktail and wooden steps. Steam rises off the water; it drives like a quad bike.
  • Tub GT – a long, low racing tub with stripes, a rear wing, a splitter and slicks. The boost fires a nitro afterburner out of the drain pipe.
  • Rocket Tub – a rocket nozzle and strap-on boosters with fins. The boost lights the rocket flame with a far bigger push.
  • Bath Brigade – a camouflage tub full of mud, sandbags, jerry cans, a spare wheel and an antenna. The horn plays a bugle.
  • Saturday Night Soak – a sparkly purple tub with a mirror disco ball, speakers and a record player. Colour-cycling neon underglow, and the horn fires confetti.
  • Cold Plunge – an icy tub with snow, icicles, ice cubes and a snowman in a top hat. Dry-ice mist and slippery, drifty handling.
  • The Salty Tub – a wooden plank ship with a mast, sail and skull flag, a front cannon and a parrot. Foghorn, and the boost fires the cannon.

Drive it into the sea

  • Every tub is amphibious. It floats, and you drive it on water with the same keys.
  • It steers where you point it. GTA’s own rudder hardly turns a short tub, so the script steers them afloat: the tub turns with your stick, even slowly on the spot, stops turning when you let go, and its sideways drift dies down.
  • Splashes from the wheels in rain or shallow water, and a splash when you land a jump.

Vehicle extras

  • Up to six per tub, themed: a roof, a spoiler, an outboard motor, a life ring, a front bar and a snorkel. The classic tub gets a shower roof with a curtain, the royal a velvet canopy, the disco a light rig, the ice tub a snow plough, the pirate a crow’s nest, oars and an anchor.
  • Real GTA vehicle extras: they work with /tubextra, vMenu’s extras menu, SetVehicleExtra and garage scripts that save extras.
  • Cosmetic: they don’t change how the tub drives and never block a seat. The tubs spawn without them unless you ask.

Bath time

  • Every tub has its own horn: a duck squeak, a fanfare, an air horn, a bugle, a foghorn. Nearby players hear it, quieter with distance.
  • Bath boost on one key: a splash, a burst of soap out of the drain pipe, the faucet gushing, and a short push with more power. Some tubs add their own: nitro, the rocket flame, the cannon. Nearby players see and hear it; there is a cooldown.
  • Soap bubbles out of the drain pipe as you drive, and a dripping faucet up close.
  • A wobbling rubber duck on the rim: it tips back when you accelerate, forward when you brake, outwards in curves, and hops on bumps.
  • Two seats in the water, working suspension with coil-overs that compress, and real vehicle lights: headlights, tail lights, brake lights and indicators.

Light on your server

  • With no tub nearby, the script only looks for one every 750 ms.
  • Particles, ducks and neon are local to each player. Only two small events go over the network, “this tub honked” and “this tub boosted”, and the server rate-limits them.

Setup

  1. Drop the bathtub folder into your resources.
  2. Add ensure bathtub to your server.cfg.

The vehicle metadata is loaded by the resource itself. Admins spawn a tub with /bathtub, a particular one with /bathtub pirate, and with extras with /bathtub classic 1 4. The tubs are ordinary vehicles, so any spawner, vehicle shop or garage works with their spawn names:

bathtub, bathtub_royal, bathtub_monster, bathtub_hottub, bathtub_gt, bathtub_rocket, bathtub_army, bathtub_disco, bathtub_ice, bathtub_pirate

Configuration

A single commented config.lua, among others:

  • every tub: its name, horn, boost and effects, its water steering, its duck
  • the horn: volume, range, cooldown, pitch variation, or GTA’s horn
  • the boost: key, power, push, top speed, duration, cooldown
  • water steering: turn rate, grip, how quickly it responds, or GTA’s rudder
  • extras: the command and which are on when a tub spawns
  • effects: bubbles, splashes, faucet drip, steam and mist, neon, how many and how far
  • the duck: on or off, wobble, dressed or plain
  • the spawn command and its permission, all texts

Requirements

None. No framework needed. OneSync (on by default with txAdmin) is recommended: with it the server checks that a horn or boost really comes from the tub’s driver.
