don’t install leaked scripts and be careful with what you do. So to fix this issue i would recommend doing these 4 easy steps
step 1 TRASH the whole server. Why? because that code is all over inside your vehicles, mlos and basically all over ur fivem.
step 2 delete your VM (just incase just remake the thing.) if ur hosting it on your main pc welp your a ding dong. you should still reformate to be on the safe side.
step 3 reinstall your VM brand squeaky clean new (or main pc)
step 4 go through again installing all of your files (DO NOT DOWNLOAD LEAKS OR CRAPPY SCRIPTS!)
hope this helps because there’s no way to fully remove it unless you go through every single file and remove the code and quarentine the possible bad script that is doin it.

And it cannot go into your vehicles or mlos if it doesnt have some kind of code, never seen a cipher code in vehicles.meta files
Factually wrong, most backdoors of this kind will replicate themselves and leave “fallback code” in already existing resources, examples of which you can see by looking up in this thread. You are correct in stating that it cant place itself in, say, .meta files (at least as far as we know), all Lua files and other code may be susceptible, and different Y** (YDR/YFT etc) files can technically be infected as well with enough expertise, although I haven’t seen that done myself - theoretically it’s doable, however.
While it’s possible to find all of the traces and clean out the backdoor, it’ll take longer - even if done perfectly - than just nuking the entire server and reinstalling everything from scratch, not to mention that missing just a single line may revert all your work back to square 1 on server boot.
You can do that, but it’s easy to miss something depending on what exact malicious thing you got hit by. It’s considerably more reliable to start from scratch anyway, particularly for anyone not well-versed in these things
yes it can my guy. i’ve came across someone who had the same exact code in some of the vehicles i believe it embeded itself into the vehicle name or vehicle shop name it was something to do with the name.
You can always choose a hosting provider that offers protection against this. I know that vibe games currently offers 100% protection for this, while some other hosts provide partial protection.
You can also always use the cipher scanner from the Fiveguard developers. Seems good enough in 99% of the cases.
Backdoors don’t only come from leaked files. Cipher spreads itself. It can also appear in a legitimate script or be installed on your server by an angry developer.
