I just downloaded and installed fivem and it is asking me to supply my rockstar account info
I feel very hesitant doing this is there any way to provide any proof that I have a legitimate game without entering my login details into your software?
Entering you details is the only way FiveM can make sure you are in possession of a legitimate copy of GTA 5.
FiveM is open-source, your login information does not get stored online or anything. It will store it locally onto your PC.
Well opensource is fantastic and I fully support this but as long as I do not compile it myself you still never will know what the downloaded executable does unless you trace its actions and debug it, something I am not willing to do. Something being opensource does not guarantee that someone else who compiled it abides by its laws.
Obviously a lot of people are using this as all the tutorials online spoke of this but I do hope you understand I am trying to be careful and I just changed my password temporarily and entered the details and instantly got an error.
As I am new to the GTA V game and really enjoy roleplay, I am just cautious with these things which I hope makes sense.
I will try this again later perhaps, for now the error and crash of the program kinda spooked me.
Restarted it after the error and it does seem to work now will give it a try and learn thank you for the response,
Change your GTA V password --> Connect to FiveM --> change your GTA password again.
FiveM will probably not ask your password again.
It wont ask your password again as @Vanyangel said . Its a 1 time verification.
the most important information that has not been said is… your login information is going to Social Club not FiveM… FiveM does not collect nor communicate with Social Club it only verifies your license and thats it.
