Upcoming NativeUI Alternative: MasonUI

Documentation

Hey everyone,
I’m currently working on an alternative to NativeUI called MasonUI. The old standard NativeUI, which almost every server uses, is getting outdated and definitely needs a refresh

I’ve got a couple of questions for you:
:point_right: What do you think of the design and documentation so far?
:point_right: Are there any features or quality-of-life things you feel are missing in NativeUI that you’d like to see in MasonUI?

Here’s what MasonUI already offers:

  • Standard functions like NativeUI (lists, buttons, etc.)
  • Its own save system → makes it super easy to store user-specific data like theme colors or general settings

Right now, MasonUI depends on ESX, but this will be removed before release, so it’ll be fully standalone.

Does this use NUI or the drawing natives/scaleform?

Also is there any reason the preferences system relies on a SQL database rather than using client KVP?

It’s using NUI for the UI part, not just drawing natives. As for preferences, SQL/MySQL makes more sense than client KVP because it’s tied to the player’s identifier on the server, that way settings stay consistent across devices and sessions, instead of being stored only locally.

unless you are planning to making it backwards compatible with nativeUI , i’m not sure it will be widely used in the servers.
it has to be first adapted by the developers…

MasonUI isn’t backwards compatible with NativeUI because it’s built on NUI instead of scaleforms, but in concept it works very much like NativeUI. The difference is that MasonUI is simpler to use, more flexible, and offers additional features. Converting existing NativeUI menus is straightforward, and in the future there may even be a tool to automate that process.

I just pushed a NativeUI to MasonUI Converter to the documentation website, but it’s still in beta and definitely needs some work to make it more reliable.

Now you can give MasonUI a try and go to the UI Builder Website (also on the Documentation website), there you can build UI’s in no time, remember its all still in beta!

At some point this will be a paid feature.

Waiting on the release! Looks promising

Here’s a short showcase of how I usually test MasonUI functions. It helps me see if anything is interfering with each other:

This test was fully performed by the script itself.

:loudspeaker: MasonUI - Beta Release Announcement

Hey everyone,

Quick update for those following MasonUI:
The menu will be released no later than September! :fire:

Current progress:

  • ~ 3,200 lines of code (and growing daily, with new features added constantly)
  • Strong focus on performance & stability
  • In idle the script runs at 0.00ms / 0.00%
  • Even with heavy calculations or large amounts of UI elements, the menu stays smooth and the framerate remains stable

:pushpin: Availability:

  • MasonUI will be available for free on Tebex
  • It won’t be open source, but you’ll have full freedom to customize CSS and general menu design
  • If you’d like to see specific features or functions related to customizing your menu, just drop your ideas and feedback - I’m always open to adding improvements

MasonUI isn’t just a copy of NativeUI. It’s a modern, flexible alternative with a bunch of quality-of-life features. The goal is to deliver a tool that’s easier to use, more powerful, and still as lightweight as possible.

:backhand_index_pointing_right: Release: No later than September
:backhand_index_pointing_right: Until then: Expect more updates, tests, and sneak peeks in this thread.

Huge thanks to everyone who shared feedback so far, it really helps me to push MasonUI in the right direction. :raising_hands:
