What is the issue you’re having?
Hello, I need help diagnosing a persistent FiveM client freeze/stutter issue.
Issue summary:
FiveM was working perfectly during one session. I logged off for about an hour, came back, and since then FiveM has had severe lag, FPS drops, and freezing. This has been happening for about 2 weeks now.
What happens:
I usually get around 100 FPS.
When the issue happens, FPS drops below 10 or sometimes near 1 FPS.
The game freezes for several seconds.
GPU usage drops heavily during the freeze.
It happens while running around and during normal gameplay.
It happens on all servers I join, not just one server.
Other games work fine.
Hardware tests show no hardware problems.
Reliability Monitor:
Shows Hardware Error
Problem Event Name: LiveKernelEvent
Code: 1A8
Parameter 1: 1
FiveM crash/hash info:
I saw legacy crash hash: WYOMING-BLACK-TIMING
I do not always crash to desktop. Most of the time it is freezing/stuttering, not a full crash.
Profiler findings:
The profiler shows spikes under Resource Manager Tick / task iteration / ref call. Some lines I saw include:
ref call [@ox_lib/resource/interface/client/context.lua[88..88]]
ref call [@tgg-billing/client/custom/utils/death.lua[45..51]]
ref call [@tgg-billing/client/custom/utils/handcuff.lua[10..16]]
Because this happens on all servers, I am not sure if these are the actual cause or just where the client thread is stalling.
Things I already tried:
Cleared FiveM cache.
Deleted server-cache and server-cache-priv.
Deleted caches.xml.
Verified GTA V files.
Factory reset Windows.
Tested hardware, no problems found.
Checked different servers, same issue.
Disabled overlays.
Tried lowering graphics settings.
Capped FPS to 60.
Turned off Hardware-Accelerated GPU Scheduling.
Cleaned CitizenFX.ini.
Removed custom PoolSizesIncrease line from CitizenFX.ini.
Set CitizenFX.ini to production channel.
Current CitizenFX.ini:
[Game]
IVPath=C:\Program Files\Epic Games\GTAV
UpdateChannel=production
DisableNVSP=1
My PC specs:
CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 7700X 8-core processor
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 Ti
RAM: 32 GB | Speed 5200
Storage: MSI M450 2TB SSD and Fivem and GTA is on this
Windows version: Window 11 Insider
GPU driver version: NVIDIA
I can provide:
CitizenFX.log
profiler screenshots or JSON
Reliability Monitor screenshot
Event Viewer logs
cl_drawperf screenshot during the freeze
Can someone help identify whether this is a FiveM client issue, graphics driver/display pipeline issue, NUI/CEF issue, or resource manager/client thread stall?
