Text Chat not displaying any Messages unless I press "T"

Before updating my servers artifacts and updating my Text Chat from the FiveM Forums and Github when someone would type in chat it would appear at the top left and then fade out. However after updating it doesn’t display at all unless I press “T” to check the text box. How do I get it to appear and fade out upon new messages again?

Try pressing L for a start (that’s the default “lock” button for chat)

Of course - you can just disable that button from being pressed within any client script. Simply put this into any while true do loop:
DisableControlAction(0, 182, true)

I think i get what you’ re saying. If you want the chat to be visible only when its active, then what you should do is just note or delete the lines 223 and 224 in “cl_chat.lua” (thats what i found at least). This way you wont be able to use the L Key and the chat will stay visible only when its active
