Suggestion: Consider Native ARM / Windows on ARM Support for FiveM

Hello FiveM / Cfx.re team,

I’d like to suggest that FiveM consider future support for ARM64 / Windows on ARM, as the platform is rapidly becoming more relevant in the Windows ecosystem.

Windows on ARM adoption is increasing due to:
• Microsoft’s continued investment in Windows ARM (Prism x64 emulation improvements)
• New ARM-based Windows hardware (Snapdragon X series, OEM laptops, tablets)
• Apple Silicon users running Windows ARM via virtualization for development and testing
• Growing ARM support across anti-cheat, drivers, and major applications

At the moment, FiveM depends on x64 Windows and low-level hooks that do not function reliably under ARM emulation. This is understandable given the complexity of FiveM’s architecture, anti-cheat requirements, and GTA V dependencies.

However, long term, native ARM64 support (or official guidance on Windows ARM compatibility) could:
• Expand FiveM’s potential user base
• Improve stability vs emulation
• Future-proof the platform as ARM adoption continues
• Align with broader Windows platform trends

This doesn’t need to be immediate or guaranteed—even a “not planned / under consideration / blocked by X” clarification would help the community understand the direction.

Thank you for the work you do on FiveM and for continuing to evolve the platform.

Same issue as with Linux support that is asked for every so often - it’d take a tremendous amount of work to port the anti-cheat over to work on ARM-based devices, and the userbase of FiveM on ARM isn’t that high. I’m not Cfx staff, but considering that nothing’s being done regarding Linux support for all this time it’d be shocking if ARM became supported first lol

Arm is definitely becoming more popular, as microsoft is moving to arm based devices. That being said its definitely worth it, as more people move to arm devices bc microsoft is doing that. As the more people that would play fivem on arm.

Microsoft isn’t moving to ARM based devices? It has created support and released a consumer available Windows OS that works with it but that’s not a signal that Microsoft is moving away from x86 anytime soon.

Ok either you need to take English classes, or you’re a troll. If you don’t understand the context of something maybe you should hold back and not respond, no one here has said Microsoft is getting rid of x86. We just said that Microsoft is moving to arm based hardware, meaning we are getting more support for arm devices. As Microsoft,s flagship laptops are continuing to arm, and manufacturers are to.

Moving to implies a moving away from something. They are simply adopting a new architecture. Apple moved to ARM based processors instead of adopting them if we want to critique my understanding of English. But as said, it’s non-trivial to port the AC to non-x86 architectures and with the limited resources, it will be as likely as getting Linux support.

The marketshare for ARM-based devices running Windows is way too small to consider this. Also, most ARM Windows devices are not capable of running games smoothly due to lack of dedicated GPUs, making the marketshare even less important. Nothing too consider for the foreseeable future (<3-5 years).
