A unique and compelling roleplay experience

SCRP Southern California Roleplay is a new-ish roleplaying server established in May 2018. Over the last few months, we have been performing a significant amount of development work and are pleased to release our region to the public. Our goal is to create unique experiences on a familiar framework. What does that mean? We’re built on the ESX Framework you’ve come to know and love. Some of our scripts will be familiar to you but we’ve improved them and added our own custom flair as well as a plethora of completely custom and unique scripts and features.

What makes us Unique?

  • Realistic maps (Hollywood, Beverly Hills) featuring landmark California buildings (CitiBank, Bank of America, In-N-Out, etc).
  • Over 150 (and growing) unique, realistic, and high-quality vehicles with hand-tuned handling.
  • 30+ (and growing) jobs both familiar and custom with unique jobs: FBI, Military, Cult Leader/member, Street Performer, Hooker.
  • Unique paranormal roleplay experiences including the possibility of seeing a UFO, Bigfoot hunts, alien abductions, and other strange happenings. The FBI (player-run) is tasked with investigating paranormal events.
  • Area 51 - Fort Zancudo has been transformed to a secret military base. Whitelisted military staff-members can test drive top-secret military aircraft and must protect the base from curious citizens.
  • Newspaper - If you love to write, the Southern California Gazette is HIRING! Our custom-built website automatically curates news articles created by journalists: http://x-fil.es/news/
  • News reporter - We encourage our live news reporters to broadcast live on Facebook, Twitch, and YouTube and give you unique tools for going live. Use your over-the-shoulder video camera that features custom video overlays while in the first-person view to simulate a live news broadcast. Use the handheld microphone to interview witnesses or report live from your custom-designed news helicopter.
  • Unique events featuring in-game cash bonuses and IRL prizes - frequent players are entered in contests and rewarded with in-game currency and IRL gift cards, steam games, and PC hardware (webcams, etc) to elevate their live streams.
  • Planned events: 5k Marathon, Destruction Derby, Dirty Rally, Motorcycle Races, Car Races, Bigfoot/alien hunt, Karaoke and standup comedy nights plus more planned by our community director.
  • Dedicated and extremely active developers and admins who are engaged with the community and implementing requests and features voted on by the community members.
  • A custom-built and frequently updated website: x-fil.es with information on the region, live radio, and information on player-run businesses/city services.
  • Player-owned and operated car thieves - hire and train the best drivers to steal marked high-value supercars in-game and return them to your location to sell.
  • Custom police cars including high-speed pursuit supercars.
  • Player-owned unique properties (no two players can own the same property)
  • The only server (to my knowledge) featuring a completely custom radio dial (accessed IN-GAME!) featuring player-owned and managed radio stations synchronized across all players with custom music (preview/listen live: http://x-fil.es/about-the-region/radio-stations/).

“The Radio Station That Never Was” – a synthwave radio station that was planned to be released in popular video game, “GTA V” but never came to fruition. Now streaming 24/7 in Southern California!

We’ve had as high as 25 during events. Averaging ~10 most nights. Community has been growing substantially in the past few weeks.

Role-playing is not for me, but good job on being fairly unique. Doesn’t look like the cookie cutter copy and paste servers. Kudos on being original.

Thanks @SaltyGrandpa - I appreciate the feedback. In a sea of 1000’s of the same experience, we wanted to be unique. Some people have been turned off by the paranormal. My logic is - in IRL there are plenty of conspiracy theorists who believe in the paranormal. We offer all the normal experiences, jobs, cars, etc. but we do have a small population of “believers.” Plus, roleplaying as an alien or bigfoot is fun when you get to see / hear other people’s reactions.

I just have no friends and I felt that I had a place in your community and I guess because I rarely have people to talk to your group was special for me and being banned was not good for me. I want to thank you for letting me in for the time it was the best gaming community I have been in. Tiny things like a tour of the city and making new members feel at home is what differs your group. Keep up the great work and thank you so much for a great few days

We’ve just added a custom motorcycle garage and are adding more dealerships. What types of cars are you interested in selling?

I’m interested in having my own dealership and selling classics, maybe even donks (big rims) and having the option to purchase from other dealerships and resell and also from other players wanting to sell, trade, or upgrade vehicles. So honestly a variety of niche vehicles
