I have been using Zap-Hosting and in all honesty, i have had terrible service this last few weeks. looking to move to a new host. Any good ones out there that are still allowed on fivem? please let me know!
The ONLY GSP (game service provider) that is allowed by FiveM is ZAPHosting (as per their TOS). But if you did find an unapproved GSP with non-blacklisted servers, it is only a matter of time before they blacklist it and you loose your money.
My suggestion is to start researching what VPS is, look for which OS is easier (windows, Linux - Ubuntu/Debian) but DONT go buying before you know how to use it…
In addition to what J.manlet said i would recommend setting up a server on a localhost and getting familiar with how things work. A vps is going to be pretty much the same. Do your testing and get things how you want them to be. Then you can pretty much copy pasta your server to your vps.
What has been wrong with zap?
Nothing. Its the issue where people have no idea what they are doing and rely on other people to fix their problems or place the provider

When then you should have no issues with ZAP cause i havent. Runs good no problems what so ever.
Then why not try to setup a VPS with some linux distro?
Probably cheaper and full control over your own system.
Even if you have limited knowledge about linux, the best way to get better is by just working with it.
And if you have issues with ZapHosting, then please reach out to them about your issues. I bet they are eager to know what exact issues/fustrations you are facing and how they can improve their services.
