It maybe stupid or useless question but I really want an answer for it as i was asking myself about it many times, Is there’s any limit for the resources that the server can handle ( don’t include custom cars ), and what if we include the cars then how much resources should i stay below?

Combine every single car resource into one. Combine different script files into serveral resources with naming that makes sense to you. The lower the resources the better.

I did before merging all the cars but what happen was unexpected that all edits gone, Engine, bumper etc…
Edit: I will do merging them again and see… and about scripts i will merge them

I was told that there is a 400 resource hard cap.
as painful as it is, you’re going to have to go back through your cars as you’ve probably made mistakes if you’re missing customization parts. Sounds silly but make sure you have all your stream folder contents in the same folder as well.
How are you merging your cars? the simple way is to combine all the stream folders and each car has it’s own folder for it’s metas. Then you just reference them in the resource file
Or do like rockstar does, one
- vehicles.meta
- carvariations.meta
- carcols.meta
- handling.meta
With all the cars in them.

Okay, so wanna ask another question related to this too, Less count of resources/cars will give more fps ?
Does it make a difference in resource count vs resource size? I feel like they correlate directly. If you have 12 16 MB Vehicles all loading in one resource the resource size doesn’t change between separating out those vehicles. I feel resource count is just more BS people are overstressing. If you are having issues you should look at your streaming sizes of files.
Try looking at your streaming sizes
Press F8:
strmem true
to turn off do strmem false
resmon true
to turn off do resmon false
I have 222 Resources in my server and can run all graphics on highest settings without a lick of texture loss. I am running off of I7-8700K and a NVIDIA GTX 1080 as my personal machine.
I run 32 GB of Ram and i7-6700K on my VPS. (Largest hitch warning is 250 ms maybe once every 30 min)
If you consolidate all those vehicle resources into one, it’s not only cleaner/looks better but I’m almost positive it helps your server run a bit better as it doesn’t have to “dig” through as many folders.
theres also this that i use on my server. [Release] Quickly merge vehicle .meta files Works 90% of the time. but keeps the server running good and clean
Notice how he asks before cars. I don’ think there is a hardcap on resources. I guess the only way to find out is to keep adding until it stops. I know multiple servers that are at around 300 resources (Trainer Based) and don’t have any issues. Now obviously I have no clue how many are cars but Cars and EUP are going to be MUCH more resource intensive than scripted resources.
