[REQUEST] NativeAudio based on ped

Hello, my suggestion is for NativeAudio.

Currently 3D logic is based on the gameplay camera, could it be possible to add a native/convar to set the logic on the player model coords and heading ?

No, that’s not ‘possible’ since one can’t add multiple listeners to the game audio subsystem (also as this is a very odd idea so R* never added provisions for this), and any attempt at this without doing so would affect all game audio which I also doubt is something that would make sense.

Why does everyone even want this? Game audio itself is also originating from the viewport for obvious reasons i.e. it just making most sense since you’re not playing as the player except in 1st person, but you’re playing from the perspective of a bored camera man (also imagine having to rotate the character with its clunky animations to have correct audio directions for all game sound, wtf? this doesn’t make sense unless in first-person camera mode and even then it’s just the same as a camera).

Do people asking this just want to confuse players?

I was asking that because a lot of players asked that when i switched to NativeAudio, i don’t understand why they would want this either but it seems that whispering to someone really close feels weird when it’s based on camera.

Wouldn’t that just be position, not necessarily direction?

You are right, didn’t think of that but yeah, the weird feeling they are talking about might only be because of the position.
