@sixsens Just had an idea for you to fix/workaround the missions spawn problem with OneSync, which might be MUCH easier, while you hear back from the devs. Surprised I didnt think of this before…

There are flags/settings I added for ‘indoor’ missions, like in Humane Labs etc… to allow NPCs to be spawned properly.
Set IndoorMissions=true either globally or per mission, thats all you need to do.

This will make all the npc spawns to be dynamic, so they only spawn when a player is near. The player that is nearest to the spawn point for the ped or vehicle will do the spawn. So you will have multiple players spawning peds when they are nearby. You may want to look at the code for IndoorMissions flag in client.lua and maybe increase the player distance check as well, if you are spawning NPCs outside or in plain view.

Any peds/vehicles you want spawned normally at the start of the mission, just add outside=true to the ped or vehicle in the missions.lua

Let me know if that works.

--if any player is in the line of sight it will not spawn. Sometimes you will not want this on.

got a very similar error to one posted before:
Error parsing script @missionevent/missions.lua in resource missions: @missions/missions.lua:1: unexpected symbol near ‘<\239>’
Failed to load script missions.lua.
and fixed by reloading the base file thats unedited. however once i got in game i got a very slightly different error:
Error parsing script @missionevent/client.lua in resource missions: @missions/client.lua:1: unexpected symbol near ‘<\239>’
Failed to load script client.lua.
Again tried replacing with unedited version just copied over onto the server from the basic file downloaded (even though i hadnt touched anything in this file). They both apparently are happening in the same place in the code on 2 different scripts? seems very odd.

@Drakeagle Hi, is this happening on zap hosting server? or your own server? Is the server linux? This is very odd. Are you moving the files to the server on ascii mode? How are you editing the files? What software are you using? Are you editing on the server?

zap hosting linux server. ive tried not touching anything on the files at all except moving them onto the server via winSCP. when editing ive tried notepad++, notepad and the built in editor for winSCP each seperately and none have made any difference.

You said you did that though. Are you editing directly on the server? Or on your local computer and uploading first? Something is getting changed when you make an edit, which is causing the fivem code parser to not read the file properly. In WinSCP make sure the transfer mode for uploading the lua files to the server is in ascii mode. If it is, and it is not working, try binary mode just in case.

I would get a hold of zap hosting support to see what they say as well.

ive tried both locally and on the server via winSCP. it did seem to be using binary for the transfer so changed that option in winSCP but still the same issue as before.

Did my suggestion with the indoor spawns work? You could probably relatively easily change that code, so that the first host to spawn something spawned everything else… that would act like the “second host”

ok cool. yeah, as mentioned, the indoorspawns flag can be used for any spawn, not just indoors, and may be real easy fix for you. just changing one config var to true in the missions.lua.

does the indoorspawn flag is new flag… i think i didnt update to that. I did stop update it cause i didnt need ramdom mission stuff… if you remember.
soo in this case ill probably will take a snipped of the flag indoorspawn code and add it to my script…

You will need to go through the latest version, and search on “indoors” or “indoorsmission” on client and server, and "SpawnAPed"on client which is a version of SpawnPed. Unfortunately its not that easy to share. since I had to make changes to SpawnPed and other places to accommodate.

It might be easier to follow your first idea, but this is another option that should work. This will have the closest client to a spawn position to spawn and host (?) that NPC/vehicle.

On a mission where we, for exemple, spawn 2 ped…
one in south and one in north…
My fix with 2 host would not work.

Your fix i think could do it.

By the way i remember something weird when working on the issue… the ped spawn… were trying ti move.
Exemple:
a ped spawn with a car… he was turning the wheel …
a ped spawn with helico… he started the engine and made spin the motor but freeze…
same with ped with weapon… the were aiming in a freeze position…

So i thought maybe its a freeze entity that doesnt work the same with onesync…

Updated to 2.9.9d. Added a fix for Mission7, Mission10 and Mission11 of the Shadow State Mission Pack campaign included in the resource. Added HostageRescue=true to them.
This works around a bug whereby the mission would not complete if you killed a hostage. if a hostage dies, the mission will fail. Will need to apply a proper fix when I get the motivation.

Hey man. Great script I’m working on my own gang wars game mode and I have a very important question. I have seen that you have mission Road Warrior or something like that, where you need to protect the target driving a vehicle before he reaches certain point. Did you have any idea how to prevent the ped which is tasked to go to certain coords, from going crazy mode when someone shoots at him? Because in my script the ped is driving just fine, but when someone shots at him, then he completely ignores the previous task and go wandering around escaping from shooting, instead of going to tasked coords

Yeah, the Road Warrior mission. iirc the target ped (the road warrior) in that mission has a target coord to drive to (cant remember), but, iirc, I think he will give up on trying to reach the coordinate, in order to flee the attackers. Thats expected behavior in my resource.

As far as forcing the ped to drive to a coordinate, no matter what, if you take a look at the Fury Road mission (mission10 i think), the attacking driver peds will do this. iirc, I made these peds be friendly to everyone including players via relationship groups, as well as everyone friendly to them. So they just dont get pulled into any drama and go about their business. I created my own relationship group for them. I think the attribute “conqueror” is added to the ped definitions in missions.lua to get them to act like this.

You could do something similar, but not make certain other attacking groups friendly to them.

There may be AI functions that can do this better, but that was my solution. That should work for you as well. Programmatically, you will need to change the relationship of the driver, adding them to the new group when they need to finish the task, and then when they get to the destination, change them back if needed.

Another option might be (a bit hacky though), to have a loop which somehow looks for a driver doing the task and then keep adding the task in case they get pulled into drama. Not sure if that would work.
