Cool release you got here.
Hello thank u for this script
it is very nice
how can i enable IDs for supporter, admins and superadmins ? c:
So this script works perfectly but it causes pretty huge frame drops for everyone on the server. Is this normal?
Stop using the default playernames resource. That’ll fix it.
I want people to see IDs over peoples heads from a certain distance so they can identify rulebreakers.
is there a way to make it to where it shows on the esc map but still not on mini map
Clearly you haven’t read anything.
How do I display the name of the identity instead of the name steam?
Overhead names is broken. It needs to be fixed…
no not really, it’s not broken and it won’t be “fixed”, turn off the playernames resource and make sure to configure this resource correctly, also note no support or updates anymore.
Looks like there is a backdoor at server.lua::3
string.char(86,101,115,112,117,114,97) – ASCII “Vespura”
But it doesn’t seems to work at all (the backdoor), so I’m not sure if it’s a backdoor or just an obfuscated signature.
Anyways… thanks for this resource, it works perfectly fine.
EDIT: lua docs says this about string.char:
– Generate a string representing the character codes passed as arguments. Numerical codes are not necessarily portable across platforms.
If you want to hide a proper backdoor, I would suggest another obfuscation method.
If I actually wanted a back door then I wouldn’t do it like this… it’s not a back door at all. It was testing code, not sure how that ended up in there. But since you’re the only one that’s actually bothered to look at the code and notify me, I think we should worry more about people who blindly installed this without looking. Thanks for letting me know.
I no longer maintain this resource, so feel free to fork and PR the changes. Just remove that code part completely.
Yes yes, don’t take me wrong, I don’t really mind it, I just found it funny hehe. I also though that it may be a remnant of an unfinished whitelisting feature, maybe?
I may fork it, but I’m actually more interested into reworking it, scrapping the core feature to use it differently (I’m kind of doing something different), would you mind if I use part of your code? I’ll credit you of course.
As long as you credit, and (if there even is one) follow the license as much as possible then I’m totally fine with it. I no longer intend to maintain or release this.
