What is the issue you’re having?
RedM consistently fails during the REDM Launcher initialization phase. In most cases, Red Dead Redemption 2 never loads at all, and often the REDM Launcher itself does not fully open. The crash or error occurs before the launcher reaches the main menu or any server connection. This issue is reproducible and occurs on a system where RedM and RDR2 previously worked without issue.
Steps to Reproduce
Launch RedM via desktop shortcut
RedM attempts to start launcher.
During this process:
The REDM Launcher either fails to open, or opens briefly and crashes.
A Vulkan memory / graphics-related error occurs before RDR2 initializes.
REDM never reaches the main menu.
This happens consistently.
What have you tried already to fix the issue?
Troubleshooting Already Attempted
Rolled back NVIDIA drivers:
551.xx
537.xx
Tested latest NVIDIA drivers
Switched graphics APIs (Vulkan and DirectX 12)
Lowered resolution and graphics settings
Disabled all overlays (NVIDIA, Discord, etc.)
Cleared RedM cache
Reinstalled RedM
Verified RDR2 files
Tested single-monitor setup
None of these steps resolved the issue.

Issue occurs before RDR2 gameplay or server interaction
Other games and applications run normally
Appears to be a launcher-level or Vulkan initialization regression affecting RTX 40-series GPUs
