Latest Community News - Reckless RP
A new controversy has emerged within Reckless RP, surrounding the server’s 18+ age requirement and recent staff decisions.
A minor reportedly joined the community and asked whether they would be permitted to stay despite the community being considered 18+.
There is, however, an important distinction: the official public rules do not currently state that the server is 18+. According to the information provided to staff, the server owner has privately told administrators that Reckless RP is indeed intended to be an 18+ community.
Staff therefore initially made their position clear: no exceptions.
The situation reportedly changed when the server owner entered the discussion, expressing that they would be willing to make exceptions and allow underage individuals into what staff had been told was a strictly adult-only community.
The discussion then shifted toward the server’s approach to “realism.” One administrator criticized the expectations placed on players by highly realistic RP servers, arguing that some communities effectively expect players to treat the server like a second job - spending weeks grinding just to afford an in-game vehicle, as though the game should take priority over having an actual life.
Following that discussion, the server owner removed the administrator from the staff team for protecting the community as “rules are rules”.
This has raised questions within the community regarding age-limit enforcement, exceptions to the supposed 18+ requirement, the discrepancy between public rules and private staff guidance, staff independence, and how criticism of the server’s direction is handled.
