Question / Suggestion Regarding Release Approval Times

Question / Suggestion Regarding Release Approval Times

Hey everyone,

I wanted to bring up something that has been on my mind as a developer, and hopefully get some clarification or feedback from the Cfx.re team/community.

I completely understand that there is a moderation queue and that moderators have a lot of content to go through. I genuinely appreciate the work the moderators do, and I’m not trying to complain about the people doing the job. I know moderating a platform this size isn’t an easy task.

That said, I’ve recently had some of my RedM release posts sitting in pending for a week or more, and in some cases I’ve seen other release posts remain pending for considerably longer.

For developers who spend days — and sometimes many sleepless nights — building, testing, documenting, and preparing scripts for release, the approval time can become a pretty important part of the process.

For many of us, the Cfx.re Releases section is one of the main ways we can actually introduce our work to the community. When a paid resource is ready but the release post remains pending for 7+ days, it makes it difficult to know when the resource will actually become visible to potential users.

I’m not asking for special treatment or for anyone to skip the normal review process. I completely understand that releases need to be checked and that there are rules for a reason.

I’m mainly wondering if there is currently:

  • A recommended way for developers to contact the moderation team about a release that has been pending for an extended period?

  • An approximate expected timeframe for RedM release approvals?

  • A way to know whether a release is simply waiting in the queue or whether there is something wrong with the submission?

  • Any possibility of having additional moderation coverage for the Releases sections if the backlog continues growing?

Even a simple status such as “waiting for review”, “needs changes”, or “rejected — please check X” would probably make things much easier for developers.

Again, I really do appreciate the moderators and the work they put into keeping the forum organized. I’m just hoping there might be a better way to handle the backlog because, from a developer’s perspective, waiting a week or two without knowing whether the post has even been reviewed can be pretty difficult.

Maybe there is already a process I’m not aware of, so if there is, I’d really appreciate someone pointing me in the right direction.

Thanks for reading and for everything you guys do for the Cfx.re community.

As long as it’s in the queue it’s waiting, if there’s something wrong with the post you will receive feedback about it.

i am like you bro 1 month waithing

can you please guys really take a look and approve posts. it is really hurting me right now as i need to have sales and only way its forum. its been more than two week. if i have post wrong at least let me know please.

If it is actually “hurting” you right now, then you should really use the waiting time to advertise somewhere else as well. The world runs on social media nowadays.

Judging by your topic history and average views, you cannot rely on the forum anyways.
There is no engagement at all and if a topic has some replys, they are mostly yours (e.g. patch notes).
(this is not meant to sound offensive; if it does, my apologies)

most of the sales comes from forum. advertising and selling in other places is against cfx and tebex rules.

this is kind of official platform.

i have no problem about moderating but really two weeks without even any respond change topic or this is wrong this might not be approved. at least

ive been moderator too in big forum i understand backlog queue and everything i really do.
but just does not give F that different. it seems like this right now.

you making point about my needs financial that not offends me, that proofs my point.

and if even someone complains their post gets more queeed? common how old are we 9?

Cfx specifically prohibits:

operating a website, digital storefront, marketplace, or other means through which Server Content created by a third party is aggregated and sold/licensed for real money.

Cfx.re/Rockstar controls what commercial activity is permitted within its ecosystem and can require or prohibit particular third-party services. Tebex separately governs transactions conducted through Tebex. Cfx Marketplace licenses also prohibit buyers from redistributing Marketplace Content as standalone assets.

as you also say i dont have engagement its because i m new just started creating for redm

but all sales comes from forum.cfx.re and i m sure i have released enough good and not just scripts. my scripts really worth it.

Correct.

You are misinterpreting here. This means that it is not allowed to operate a website similar to the Cfx marketplace where a lot of creators offer their resources (even if it would link to their Tebex stores).

It does not forbid you from advertising on social media. Otherwise none of us would be able to upload videos to YouTube etc.

But I give you one example:
In your YouTube analytics, you can see where people are coming from. My latest release has ~5.6k views in the forum. And it has ~4k external views (viewers coming from a different website) on YouTube. 60% of those views come from Discord. 12.5% from GitHub (it’s a free release). Only 2.4% are from cfx. We can maybe argue that people from GitHub also got there through the forum, then we would be at 14.9%
There are several websites that total to more than 16% traffic. They are all websites which shall not be named here. I am literally getting more traffic from pirates than the actual platform people should be coming from.

Do yourself a favor and “Do as I say, not as I do” and start advertising on other platforms.
This forum is not social media. Nothing will ever go viral or will suddenly be “the big hit”. This time is long over. The plethora of releases that happen each day drown themselves in their own mass.

Also one of your latest topics look like this:

I am not gonna post another reply in this thread. :victory_hand:

check other scripts too. making statement from one post its not a statistic but i get it. thank you. appreciate the respond.

I agree, a simple status like “waiting for review” or “needs changes” would go a long way, especially when you can’t tell whether a post has even been looked at yet. That said, they’re probably getting a lot of submissions every day, so some delay is expected. My release took about 3-4 days to get a review reply, so wait times might vary depending on the section or type of release, and RedM could have a smaller moderation team behind it. I could be wrong on that, though. For now I’d just wait it out, even if it takes a while.
